Georgia Bulldogs' Mark Richt paid staff from own pocket, report says - ESPN Did not see this posted already. Coach Mark Richt paid some assistants from his own pocket and was cited by NCAA for violations. Class act on his part, in my opinion. Gave one assistant $ after he was fired and unable to find a job.
I can't argue that it's a rule, but a dumb one at that. Never heard of it. Actually thought a lot of head coaches divied their salary up among lesser assistants. What if Richt donated the money to charity and the charity gave help to an unemployed coach? Anyway, learn something every day. Go Coach Richt!
It is a shame when you get punished for doing the right thing. No wonder America is so screwed up....we have lost the character of helping your fellow man because some dumbass made a rule that will get you in trouble.:dis: Way to go Richt.:thumb: The NCAA needs a major overhaul.
Takes me back to the days of Dale Brown. No doubt Dale was a controversial figure, some good, some bad. But he stayed at odds with he NCAA over dumb rules and was also in Dutch with them I remember one time for paying out of pocket to send some players to the funeral of a team mate, out of state. And there never is any rhyme or reason to their rulings. Never any rhyme or reason to their findings. Ray Charles could find some of the things they miss and Dick Tracy couldn't find some of the things they come up with.
