You have to consider that ESPN has a vested interest in college football, and that touting the latest flavor keeps interest up. In a column the other day, Pat Forde said that Kansas's schedule wasn't that bad because Cen. Michigan is a respectable team. NORTH DAKOTA STATE beat them 44-14. The very last thing ESPN wants to talk about is somebody's schedule. As long as the numbers look good, there isn't anybody they're not willing to give the treatment to. Last week, May confronted Lou Holtz over Holtz's insistence that beating Duke was a good win for the Irish. Holtz said that Duke had all scholarship players and a full time coaching staff, so that made it a big deal. Amazing.
May is one of the better ones and he really knows his stuff. So what if he's wrong from time to time. Who can call em correct every single time?
The Oregon "bandwagon" wasn't such a tough thing to believe in considering how productive that offense was before Dixon went down with that knee injury. I happen to believe that knee injury cost me at ticketreserve.com. But c'mon, you have to admit that Oregon has had an up year where they stole the show from USC, the pre-season #1 Media's favorite team. I was hoping we would get the chance to beat a PAC-10 team... because remember all that talk about the PAC-10 vs SEC at the start of this football season? I really believed that if Oregon won out they would play in the NCG. It would be great if they still had a chance to beat the PAC-10's best team senseless. :geaux: all the way to a :crystal:
I jumped on Oregon's bandwagon when they beat the crap out of Michigan at Ann Arbor, put up over 600 yards of offense, and put a quick end to the free pass that the media always gives to the Big 10's big 2.
