nola.com reports Jamal Charles will visit the Saints. Would rather not see this happen, unless they plan to ship Ingram out. With or without MI for the 1st 4 games, we should come out of that stretch no worse than 3-1. No reason to bring in a big money FA, we'd just be back in the same "who gets the touches" quandry we had last year with Peterson.....unless Ingram is completely out of the mix.
Do you think JC would be a big money FA? I didn't follow him last year, but I thought he had fallen off the past few years. If we can get him at a good price, I'd say go for it.
I could be wrong about the money, but if that's the case, do we really need a has-been coming in? And who does he take touches away from?
Well, he may be a has-been by his prior standards, but may still be better than we have beyond Kamara. I’m not sure. Maybe he gives us a quality power back option as a change of pace to compliment Kamara until MI gets back.
he's coming off 2 injury filled years... he would be taking touches away from some of the back-up backs on the team... i'm sure the team and doctors will do their due diligence to see if he's recovered enough to contribute and will be given a contract accordingly... i think he's just insurance for those 1st 4 games (if he get's signed of course)...
They need a body while Ingram is out. If the price is right, no issues. It is competition. Just like AP last year. It didn't work out but noting was lost.
I like the Terrance West pick up. He's got potential, and could do real well in Saints offense. Even when MI returns, TW will have a role. Better longevity potential than JC, too.
Word out of Tampa Bay now is that there is a strong possibility that Jameis Winston will be suspended for the season opener against the Saints, for violation of the league's personal conduct policy. http://www.joebucsfan.com/2018/06/buccaneers-blog-jeff-cameron-jameis-suspension/#more-200157
