at The Hat. Or at least that's my interpretation. The Krewe of Zeus in Jefferson Parish has chosen as co-Grand Marshalls for this year's parade.......Jarrett Lee and T-Bob Hebert.

Why does it have to be a "shot" at anyone. The krewe is having 2 LSU players on their float. Good for them. Would you rather them have JJ? That would go over well.

It's a shot because those were the two most prominent seniors that didn't play a down vs bama II.

I wonder if Jarrett Lee throws beads off of his back foot?

Jefferson is better suited for the Rose Bowl parade. They don't throw anything. :)

it was most probably not intended to be a shot at Les or the LSU football team, and if it was, it would be an embarrassingly weak shot.

You can't have current LSU football players as the Grand Marshall for a Mardi Gras parade because that would be a violation of NCAA rules (not sure how it works with the juniors going pro...are they still active players until they sign some official paperwork...I don't know, but its probably not a good idea to pick a junior going pro)

so that leaves the seniors to pick from. who is currently by far the most popular senior on the team? Jarrett Lee hands down. Usually you just have one Grand Marshal but man, as a Metairie Krewe you'd really like have ex-Saints QB and major Saints talking head Bobby the Cajun Cannon Hebert at the Ball, so you add his kid and have co-Grand Marshalls.

Even had Lee and Hebert played the entire BCS Championship game, they still would have been first to be picked (unless they had a horrific showing and had the fanbase turn on them). what other senior are you going to pick over them? Brandon Taylor? Brooks? D. Peterson? Francois? Blackwell? Baker? Stampley? Adams? nahhh...of course you go with Lee and/or Hebert's boy

Les Miles clearly made himself the target. Hopefully parade goers shower Lee with the respect he deserves. Jarrett Lee's dedication and resilience along with his unimaginable ability to continuously deny the many opportunities he has had to criticize Les Miles are character traits to be envied. Lee has stayed positive in what could be called a "worst case scenario". I admire Lee for that.
