this might become an important thread later tonight, but there are 7 mins to go in the 1st half and Marcus has 20 points already. What are some of the highest scoring numbers, other than those Maravich owns? Edit: LSU leads 29-28 in the 1st half.
What a clutch shot! With 3.8 seconds left Thornton nails a 3 (38 points) to take the lead by 1 point. Auburn steps in bounds trying to get the ball in and turns it over. LSU misses the front end of a 1-1, Auburn rebounds and gets off a 40 footer that misses. LSU wins 81-80 :geaux:
Hey guys, long time lurker here...just decided to start posting again. Marcus Thornton is another of those great college/will be great professional players. He has size, athleticism, a great shot, defensive ability, and importantly can also be a slasher. He has superstar potential, but until a coaching change is made, no one with that kind of talent will shine. Even with the injuries, the guys who graduated last year, the transfers, and everything else, by this point in the season our tigers should be much better than they are and as I told a friend earlier in the season, many losses come down to coaching. As long as CJB is our coach, I will support him, but darn we could be a very very good team with a coaching change!:geauxtige
1st and foremost, welcome and post more often. But I have a hard time saying that players "can't shine" under Brady considering the number of SEC Freshmen of the year and SEC Player of the Year Selections the team has had under him. If I had a criticism of Brady, it'd be the contrary which is he puts too much emphasis on his stars ala the team just watching Big Baby play last year.
i see the size. maybe the athleticism. the shot is streaky. dont see the defensive ability (effort?), but havent seen him play much. slasher. well, if he can do it, he should do it. because more than anything that is what this team needs given the lack of real post players.
