as far as the mavs and MT, let everybody remember that the mavs still have the rights to shan foster who they had playing overseas last yr. so while MT being drafted by the Mavs, its possible but not probably imo, i think he there for the hornets to take as long as they want to
Let's not forget after tonight's game, we roll right into .... the NBA Draft. opcorn: Look at today's article on how some of our LSU players are perceived. An interesting continuation of earlier discussion in this thread, and perhaps a little bit of a testament of how "sneaky" talented this team might have been. I do hope that Garrett Temple finds his way to the Spurs. They unload Bruce Bowen in the trade for Jefferson, and they've been inviting Mr. Temple in for work outs. No doubt Garrett could be a younger Bowen replacement. :yelwink2: Chris Johnson also may have a chance. http://www.2theadvocate.com/sports/lsu/featured/48964571.html?showAll=y&c=y For all of those recruits looking at LSU and questioning head man Trent Johnson... In one year under LSU coach Trent Johnson, Thornton said he improved many skills that are coveted by NBA scouts. He became better in pick-and-roll and one-on-one situations and got better defensively. “We worked a lot in screen-and-rolls and other things I’d have to do in the league,” he said. “We worked hard on defense and having quick hands.” I think Noel Johnson didn't know what he was missing.

NBA draft results: Draft grades - ESPN I feel a little bit for MT, considering I know he wanted to be a first-rounder and probably should have been. But, if you're going to go in the 2nd round, you're glad to go to a good situation for him, which I believe is the Hornets. It's a place in need of a scorer like MT and it's close to home. Funny, the two guards that the Hornets were focusing on were MT and Collison, but Collison gets the nod in the first round and the Hornets have to chase to get MT in the second--I would argue that MT will have every bit the impact that Collison will. Other really big winners in my book are the Texas teams. Houston did very well, as did San Antonio--considering that both of them only had 2nd round picks, and Dallas did well to get the guy they "wanted" (i.e., trading back to get future picks), but I'm not sure that the unheard of foreign PG is going to pan out like they expect. They did, however, snag SEC player Nic Calathes in the late second. Marcus shouldn't feel too bad, when you consider all of the first rounders that fell, Dajuan Summers, Blair, Buddinger (falls to Houston) and Meeks. Surprisingly with all of the talk about how the international markets were starting to dry up a little, there were still too many international flyers taken in the late first and second in my opinion. There were ALOT of good US college players that went in the second, so MT should feel no shame. Also, for someone like Tas', this really goes to show you--stay in school, b/c there are never any guarantees. At least for MT, as opposed to G. Davis and B. Bass, he went in about the same area they did, but has a degree to show for it.
More post draft news on our Tigers... Three Tigers Headed to NBA Summer Leagues - LSUsports.net—The Official Web Site of LSU Tigers Athletics Garrett is attending summer camp for the Houston Rockets, Chris Johnson is going to the Orlando summer camp, and Terry Martin even is getting into the action (New Orleans' team). Something to watch... Also, I have to wonder, are all of these kids getting more attention b/c of the year the Tigers had? B/c of Trent? Or, just b/c scouts liked 'em? It speaks well of the program that a reserve like Terry Martin is getting looks after the year he has had.
