I would love to see the Bees pull a Tiger trifecta this offseason. Draft Marcus, and sign Brandon Bass and Stro Swift in free agency.
I don't see him as a starter, but I think he could do for the Hornets what Chris Andersen does for the Nuggets....provide 10 minutes or so of high energy activity around the rim. It was obvious in the Nuggets/Hornets series...when Andersen entered the game, the tempo increased and the crowd caught on to the energy he generated. I think Stro could be that kind of player.
Think of how the dynamics of the Hornets' lineup would change if, a couple of times a game, David West came out and was replaced by this:
One of those 3 might happen. Brandon Bass says his years in New Orleans were the worst 2 years of his life. The only way Bass ever dons a Hornet uniform again is if Byron Scott is no longer the coach.
Never say never my friend. Just found this on Hoopsworld. There's some real nice pre-draft footage of three of our Tigers, including Marcus, Tas' and Garrett Temple. They're all spending some time in Houston working out at the John Lucas Camp preparing for the draft. http://www.hoopsworld.com/video/index.asp?mm_file_id=1546&PLAY_CLIP=Y In Marcus' video, you may be surprised to hear that MT has 4% body fat (conveniently, most of his footage is without his shirt on). And, for his Dallas workout, he hit 20 of 20 threes in a drill. I guess it shouldn't surprise me. I think the question is whether Dallas will take him though as high as they pick, which I think is in the early twenties. Many folks have Dallas taking Gerald Henderson out of Duke there. Personally, I have nothing against GH, but man if they need a scorer/shooter, MT is it. If this video gets out, I think MT's stock will go higher. The Tas' video is pretty interesting... as guessed most folks are putting Tas on the perimeter to see if he can match up with quicker wings. I found it interesting that when asked who he compared himself to, Tas' said Ron Artest. I can sort of see that... but Artest is about 6'7-8" and 250, which allows him to play bigger forwards. Tas' is probably more 6'6-7" 235 lb. I sure hope he figures out that he needs to come back :thumb:.
You may be getting part of your wish... LSU guard Marcus Thornton impressive at New Orleans Hornets workout - Hornets Beat MT is ripping it up, boyz.
i saw one mock draft that had marcus going something like 25th or 26th, i think dallas is at 21st. Im glad he had a great workout in dallas, i really hope they take him, they need presence in the middle which they can get in the offseason through free agency, they need a scorer to take some of the pressure off of dirk. I think MT would be a great fit for the Mavs.
