I know with all the baseball hoopla there's little room for hoops, but I'm surprised that this story didn't get any pub on the board... LSU's Marcus Thornton to work out for New Orleans Hornets - LSU Beat Marcus Thornton has had a busy schedule of late, working out for Chicago, Dallas, Washington and New Orleans, with several more work-outs scheduled. Most folks still project him as a late first rounder to early second rounder. I certainly wish him luck. :thumb: Still no mention of how Tasmin Mitchell is doing out there, although he has a few more weeks to decide. From what I can tell, he still doesn't show up on any draft boards, and is likely to benefit from coming back for another year to fully devote to improving his stock. This is an interesting sideline with LSU now in the mix for new '09 recruit, Noel Johnson, who would make next year's team formidable along side Dotson, Mitchell (if he comes back), and Spencer. Chris Johnson also gets some mention as a late second rounder, so he's someone you also can't forget. Wouldn't it be something if he got drafted?
man it would be nice for Marcus to end up in Dallas, which wont happen, but the Mavericks could use a guy like him coming off screens, and driving the basket.
His contract over there was almost as much as Anthony Randolph's rookie contract. $1.1 million vs. $1.424 million Do you think Calathes would end up being a lottery pick? Plus Calathes is Greek.
Read this for why. Source: Florida's Nick Calathes will skip his junior season, play in Greece - ESPN Guaranteed contract, and familial ties that make playing in Greek somewhat meaningful. What I don't know however, is whether Tas' really can make this play. Calathes by most accounts was viewed as a late first rounder/early second rounder. He has ties to Greece that make it more interesting, and if he really can get the guaranteed dough, you can see why he'd do it. I can't see Tas' getting that kind of contract for various reasons, although if he wants some small $ and he doesn't want to be in school, I guess he can chalk it up to the experience of playing pro ball internationally. I don't know though, it'll be real tough for him to come back to the L if he does go and just does ok.
it'd be nice to thornton with the bees... but i think his style is too similar to cp3. taz just needs to stay in baton rouge.
Wouldn't that be a good thing he is 6'4". Cp3 need sum 1 to run with him. just imagine chris, marcus, and juju. running all day long on the competiton.
