Let's say LSU finishes conference play at 13-3 and wins the SEC Tournament. What seed would you expect being that the conference as a whole is viewed as not very strong this year and we really don't have any high profile win's this year? A 6 seed sounds about right to me even though I have seen some so called experts as recently as yesterday say a 10 seed.

If they can win the tournament I'd give them a 4 or a 3.

Way too much speculation to me. Basketball is a sport that I can just enjoy watching unfold since I really don't have any vested interest in how the team does on the national level. Don't get me wrong, I like to see LSU do well in everything, but I won't lose sleep over a loss like I would football, or a series loss in baseball. Perhaps that is unfair, but LSU basketball (while entertaining) is NOT in the same realm as baseball and football.

Now Jay you need to ask yourself is that because for the most part the basketball team isn't nationally relevant like the football and baseball programs or; is it because you aren't as passionate about basketball as you are football and baseball.

If it is the former then you might have to start purchasing some LSU basketball apparel, because I think CTJ is going to make LSU basketball relevant again.

In that scenario anything lower than a 5-6 would be a travesty, which is currently about where Florida and Tennessee are sitting. LSU would likely be both the regular-season and tournament champions of a major conference, and if that isn't deserving of respect by the selection committee despite the early-season OOC losses, then I don't know what is.

I feel the same if you replace basketball with baseball and visa versa.

    Re: Tournament Seeding.

My guess is 5 or 6. Going 8-2 the rest of the way and finishing 28-6 (using LP's scenario) would probably have LSU right at about 20th in the nation. The RPI will be still be lagging to some degree.

Would be hard to get a 3 with the way we were not respected for much of the season and the fact it's a very down year in the SEC.

13-3 means two losses late in the season and they arent really on the national radar now anyway. id say 5 seed. honestly i think 6 is the best seed anyway, sure 4 and 5 seeds play lower seeds in the first round, but they get the 1 seed next. 6 seed stays away from them as long as possible.
