I listened to Rict and he has some points...Georgia is very similar to a 2006 LSU team at the end of this year but.... The reality is the BCS is a combination of human pollsters, strength of schedule, wins over ranked teams etc... If you look at some of those facts LSU trumps Georgia... LSU played 7 ranked teams this season...defeated 6 of the seven. One of LSU's losses was to Kentucky who was ranked 17th at that time. Georgia played and won against 4 ranked teams...none of them in the top ten. Georgia's loses were to two unranked teams...South Carolina which LSU beat and Tennessee... another team LSU beat. It is going to be an interesting day tomorrow. :geaux: :crystal:
Look at the numbers he used: Georgia 4-0 vs ranked teams (23th, 18th, 11th, 16th) LSU 6-1 vs ranked teams (9th, 12th, 9th, 17th, 17th, 14th, Loss to 17th) Georgia played 7 bowl eligible teams LSU played 9 bowl eligible teams and since he brought up margin of victory, it is important to look at the margin of defeat Georgia (21 pts, 4 pts) 25 points LSU (2 pts, 6 pts) 8 points The best team in college football should not have a 21 point lose on their resume.
