We replaced a lot this year AND got hit with major injuries. 2019 we should be monsters. If we make a super this year, build a statue.

Agree, lost a ton, Watson and Smith go down and you realize Hess may not be a starter after all. That’s a lot to overcome.
Hess will be the Friday starter vs Texas. He started a few midweek games last year before cpm sent him to the bullpen and told him to go max effort on every pitch. That's what made him so effective as a closer but I don't know if they has it in him to tone it down and realive that a one ore two pitch groundout is better in the long run than a 5 or 6 pitch strikeout. We are doomed this season unless the young arms get a lot better soon. I don't know much about the Longhorns but they are likely a lot better team than Notre Dame.
