Would love to see some of the traditional Flexbone Triple Option against 'Bama. Moo St. put it in for a few games last season, just the basic triple option play, and when ran correctly, it gave the opposition fits. I think if we just run a hurry up flexbone triple option once a drive or so, it will catch 'Bama way off guard and exploit their weakness(see Georgia Southern).

Also want to see some option wrinkles(e.g., option pass, option reverse). Catch 'Bama in over-pursuit and hit 'em with a big play the other way.

Alabama's LBers ARE too big and slow to stop the option if run correctly. See GA Southern game. That's not an insult to them, they're the best LB corps in the country. They just aren't built to stop the option. Oregon would've given them a MUCH better game than they gave us.

And sorry...not gonna read Gus' instructional video on how to beat Bama.

Give it to Mr. Hilliard a few times up the gut and see what happens.

You guys can bang on Izzy if you wish but this is the dope right here.

We have backs that are quick enough to get around the outside on this LB corps. It is essential that we exploit it.

One issue: you can't always run horizontally against a defense like Bama. It's a given that we have the best secondary in the country but they might have the 2nd best and if we run sideline to sideline on them, we could see some big runs but a lot of negative runs. LSU football is running inside and I do believe that opens up the outside. We killed Trent Richardson when he tried to run to the sidelines the 2nd half against us.

So, I do think we need to get to the outside but we can't get away from who we are and what's been successful for us the entire season.

Absolutely right, I'm not saying we should go exclusively to the outside, just that we pounded inside for 4.75 quarters of the game with little to no effect. Then towards the end figured out that Hilliard had the speed to get outside on them.

My feelings on the game is that bama threw everything they had at us on Nov 5. Why wouldn't they? They had everything to gain and nothing to lose vs. OUR team that had to keep the game within reach and sort of take what we could get.

I think both teams will try to do more the second time around. Unfortunately for the gumps I think this will result in the ball being in the hands of Mo. Claiborne.
