Re: Mallory may be gone to New Mexico Do you hear yourself? Now you are asking if you can be upset hypothetically, after the fact has been disproven? There are about 5-6 guys on here that have bitched incessantly about Miles and his perceived lack of action. Now you don't hear a peep out of them. You may not want to be a negatiger but you are. And it's pretty damn silly.
Re: Mallory may be gone to New Mexico no, the point was that whenever any side of any story turns out to be correct then they rub it everybody's face. that is a lack of maturity my friend. and that has absolutely nothing to do with the points i made about why, on the business side of things, you have nothing to gain by not being honest.
Re: Mallory may be gone to New Mexico This is what the Alexandria Town Talk wrote about all this today: It would have been easy for Miles to simply announce that both Mallory and Peveto would be replaced at the end of the season. That would have been a popular move with LSU fans. Instead, Miles chose to act with class ... But that's not really much of a surprise, given Miles' background. Miles is a Michigan Man. He played and coached under the legendary Bo Schembechler. Schembechler had a well-deserved reputation for taking care of his assistant coaches, perhaps because he had been an assistant coach for a long time before getting a chance to be a head coach. Unlike many college coaches, Schembechler never treated assistant coaches like disposable objects that could be easily replaced or used as scapegoats. Miles' position coach at Michigan was Paul Schudel, who was the head coach at Ball State when I was in Indiana and covering the Cardinals. Miles and Schudel are much alike, which is no real surprise. They both are Michigan Men, who played and coached the offensive line under Schembechler. They are good and decent men who contribute to the community and treat people who work for them well. ... [Miles] handled [the situation] with as much class and dignity as possible. http://www.thetowntalk.com/article/20081219/SPORTS/812190318
Re: Mallory may be gone to New Mexico Well, we will have to disagree I suppose. This is much more than just business. It is a continual PR battle, and to several different types of customers. I feel like Miles has done a tremendous job protecting his personnel, coaches and players. I have zero problem if he lets me know things after he has decided them, and on his own time frame. I don't see that as dishonest.
Re: Mallory may be gone to New Mexico The way Miles handled this situation makes the position that much more desireable for replacements. The man knows what he's doing!:milesmic:
Re: Mallory may be gone to New Mexico Right - despite all of the impatience of Tiger fans, and questioning of his football IQ, I think CLM is showing he get's the big picture with the way he is handling all of this. I suspect Bandit's other posting will prove to be right on - Walker (if he will come to BR) as DC, or Chavis (I will be happy will either personally) + the other changes mentioned at position coaches. It will all be good changes for everyone involved, and handled smoothly.
Re: Mallory may be gone to New Mexico On the bright side I know I can count on betting the OVER in all of the Lobo games next season.
