Even Miles said that Mallory went out to New Mexico for an interview and that he got offered the job:

"Coach Mallory visited with New Mexico. He interviewed with a great friend."

Miles also confirmed that Mallory has been offered the defensive coordinator job at New Mexico by new Lobos coach Mike Locksley.

But the article (and other news reports) also said that both Mallory and another guy were offered the DC job by the New Mexico AD, and it just came down to which of the two accepted the offer first.

Re: Reported: Mallory to New Mexico

To the right of the video screen, there is a list of recent videos that includes "Report: Mallory to New Mexico" (which is currently the 4th one down the list).

I'm not sure if it is the same report that Scott Rabalais already talked about yesterday when he wrote:

Reports out of Albuquerque, N.M., are that LSU co-defensive coordinator Doug Mallory is going to become the new defensive coordinator at the University of New Mexico. The report from CBS affiliate KRQE was quoted Tuesday night by WAFB in Baton Rouge. The Albuquerque Journal newspaper in a similar report said that Mallory had been offered the job. (LINK)

    Thanks.

    I am blind.

    Apologies to TC.

Sounds like it's a done deal and that we won't hear anything official until after xmas.

Well this answers one question. Miles is making changes.

Yes, we are way beyond the question of whether Les would make changes.

Re: Mallory may be gone to New Mexico

seems like we've been disagreeing a lot lately haha, but i don't think we're way beyond it.

if new mexico handled things the way miles does or if northwestern handled things the way miles does we would still be totally unaware that anything was happening.

i think that's a problem everyone's had with miles throughout his tenure here. if you're going to make a change what is the point of hiding it? if he would've just come out and said "yes my two co-dcs are both interviewing for jobs" then we would've been way past it, but he didn't so we aren't.

we're just freshly past it.

(just to add, one thing we do know about miles is that he'll do things regardless of what he says. or he'll even do the opposite. but either way he makes moves and i guess that's somewhat of a good thing, just waaaayyyy too frustrating to watch unfold)
