    Re: mallory is gone

Oh man, those poor guys. Some of their comments show how oblivious they are:

    This guy knows a little...
...but that last line is exactly what we were all saying last year. And so is this...
But I do wish him well. Too bad he had to coach under Peveto here, because we'll never know how good he could have been.

I think this guy takes the cake, though...
I think the trolls on this board have a higher collective football IQ than the regulars over there...

According to his LSU bio, Mallory was the one responsible for play-calling this year:

Now in his fourth year at LSU, Mallory, along with Bradley Dale Peveto, will serve as co-coordinators in 2008. Mallory, who will make the defensive calls from the press box, will continued his role as LSU’s defensive backs coach.

yep that's why i've always said that it's peveto that i want gone. he was the one responsible for getting the different packages in and the plays on the field which never happened. because of that we don't really know if it was the play call or not because the players never knew the damn call.

    Re: mallory is gone

The connection between Mallory and New Mexico's new head coach Mike Locksley:

Doug Mallory and Locksey both coached together for four seasons at Maryland (1997-2000). Also, Mallory's brother Mike Mallory was a coach with both of them at Maryland in 2000.

Mallory's brother, Curt Mallory and Locksey coached together at Illinois for the last four years (2005-2008). Also, Mallory's other brother, Mike, was a coach with both of them at Illinois in 2005.

    In other words:

Locksey coached with Doug Mallory for four seasons at Maryland (1997-2000)

Locksey coached with Curt Mallory for the last four years at Illinois (2005-2008)

Locksey coached with Mike Mallory for one year at Maryland (2000) and one year at Illinois (2005).

Also, Dandy Don wrote today that:

The hottest rumor is that LSU defensive back coach Doug Mallory is being courted by a big-time school to coach defensive backs

I don't know if I would say the New Mexico Lobos are "big time." However, they did beat Arizona this year.

The Lobos are the team that had the girl kicker that transferred from Colorado:
