Good topic and post. Can we change the name of the thread, and let everyone put in their peeves?

My pet peeve is people who always think the ref's are for the other team. I think these are the same people who come up with the conspiracy theories. One of my best friends drives me crazy with this!

After that abomination at the hands of Fla this season I cant see why anybody in their right mind would even say such a thing. We have 2 young QBs and a average secondary this year (just my opinion)...last season I would have agreed with that statement, but not this year. We have a good team this year but not a great one, whats hurt us more than anything is most of the core leaders of this team are playing on Sundays now. So when goofy ppl start all that this year just point towards Gainesville. When you lose to "anyone" by that many points don't start crowing about how much better you are than someone else in another conference. Unless of course your a complete dumbass.:tigereye:

Boy, I can empathize with this. It's always holding on any play that doesn't go LSUs way, or "that's obvious" with any close call that require instant replay. Granted we were robbed last night on the goal line TD by So. Car. (shoulders were clearly down before he crosses), but people need to get over it and move on. The game is not over at that point, and good teams overcome bad calls - it happens to all teams.

I'm still wondering if that old Umpire has any eligibility left. He was in the right place to make plays a couple of times and he gave Garcia a pretty good shot for an old guy who wasn't in pads.

Of course, he also helped pick our DB on one of SC's pass plays, so I guess that sort of evened out.

Pet peeve: (didn't see it last night) Players who talk trash when the team is losing!

That made me more mad than anything about our loss to Florida (other than the loss itself). DO NOT talk sh!t if you're not making the plays required to win. DO NOT talk sh!t if you can't back it up.

I'm extremely happy with our win last night, because OUR team showed up in the second half. I was really proud of our defense and feel like our offense is starting to get into the groove. Like people before me have said, It's a YOUNG team. They're learning and getting a feel for LSU football. I was disappointed just like everyone else in the loss to Florida, but it wasn't completely unexpected. I am just proud of our boys for learning from their mistakes, correcting them, and pulling out a W. As always, :geauxtige:LSU231:

Back in the 1960s when Coach Mac had some of LSU's best defensive teams they didn't necessarily have the best offensive teams to match.
Young unproved high school players didn't have YouTube, FaceBook, cell phones, etc. Their were few who arrived in college amid national hype. Their talents were proven on the field.

Today's players respond differently from the ones who played in the days of ineligible freshmen. Having your friend post a clip of your HS exploits seems to give some kids a "pass" from giving their maximum effort and becoming a true "team" player. In other words, they are reading and collecting too many of their own press clippings.

Oh, one other thing: on defense, one hit = one good tackle, play over. On offense, backs and receivers can pretend that after their first contact they don't want to go down because it's a pit full of 'gators and snakes - choose a different spot further up the field.

Maximum effort excludes "show-boating", "trash talking" , and other unsportsman-like antics. If you truly want to WIN, let your play do the talking.

You mean fans with "Irrational Exuberance":D

I think those fans are having the wrong concept of equating "team talent" to "wins" as opposed to "TEAM play to "wins".

SC is a solid team, beating them on the road, after the debacle we had last week, by any score is a big win.
