This is not directed at anyone here at all. But moreso the people I watched the game with today. (big gang of Tiger fans). But I dislike strongly how Mon-Fri, LSU fans prance up and down the halls of their workplace and crown the SEC the greatest thing since M&M's. But then when LSU plays one of the teams that we say all week is a "team who would win the Pac 10 if they played USC's schedule", and LSU only beats them by 7, it's like an insult to the program and LSU should have crushed them by 4 touchdowns. Why is it the SEC is so great on Mon-Fri, but then on Sat nights when the opponent gives LSU a hitch, it's so insulting and embarrassing? So for the random venting. I just watched the game with some guys tonight who think LSU should win every game by 30.
And you came here to get real world points of view?? Sounds like you were watching the game with some of the posters from TF!
well when I said I wasn't directing it toward anyone here, I meant I wasn't directing it toward the 'good guys' here. But no, reading thread titles here is what inspired my post. Not every apple here is bright red. Some have bruises on them.
Until we annihilate every team we play and leave their quarterback a bloody mess at midfield you will never have anyone satisfied with the way we played. We could have blown out SC last night and someone would still bitch because we kicked one field goal on 4th and 1 at the goalline. If my wife does it again though I'm liable to lock her up during game time from now on.
The first game in my memory as a child was LSU vs Rice, in 1977, when we beat them 77-0. I firmly believe the majority of fans here were at that game and think we are supposed to win in such a lopsided manner. Once upon a time I was that deluded also. Then I turned ten.
Put me in the "happy to win by any score" category as well. I never take a game against a Spurrier team lightly, nor take the win for granted.
I think there were some legitimate criticisms in the first half. We did not play as well as we could have, but Miles made the necessary adjustments in the second half and we won.
A win is a win, and I'll take it. Especially this season, where in preseason I said losing just two would surpass my expectations, as would making it to a BCS bowl. Win, win, win is all I ask, I don't care how ugly or boring the win is so long as we have more points on the board at the end. I'll admit, I'd like every game to be like the VT one last year. But I'll take a season of last year's Tulane game so long as we win them.
