Being called a "freak injury", which is never a good thing. No word on the severity. It is an injury to his knee it appears. He just planted and was not touched. Trainers had to help him off the field.
When they say it was "kind of a freak deal" I think they meant the way that it happened....not so much the severity of the injury. Today was a walk through so I can't imagine that it was too gruesome (as you sort of alluded to). For his sake, I hope he'll be back soon.
Well "freak injury" usually ends up meaning something serious. Just for the record. And in fact it does indeed appear to be of the most serious nature. per shefter Just as Denver adds a RB, New Orleans loses one. RB Lynell Hamilton suffered what the team suspects is a season-ending torn ACL injury. half a minute ago via web
Not trying to sound insensitive (b/c I really do like Lynell and his story), but as far as the TEAM goes, Lynell Hamilton is easily replaceable. There are 100 Lynell Hamiltons vying for jobs in the NFL right now. Again, I'm not trying to be a dick....just looking at the business aspect of it.
I'd be surprised if we didn't sign someone in the next 2-3 days. I expect it to be Ladell Betts. He fits the mold perfectly of what we want in a 3rd back, which is power and short yardage game.
