And these guys wanted to play for their home state, didn't they? I bet that was the sales pitch Saban used then, something he couldn't use now for Louisiana recruits.

I doubt that Luther called Miles and say he wanted to de-commit. Luther Davis has proven to be nothing but a liar. First, about all the negativity he threw Saban's way following Saban's in-home visit...Second was that he wasn't going to 'Bama....Third was that he wasn't at 'Bama but rather at his uncle's funeral (are you kidding me??!)....and now his claim that he called Miles to de-commit.

I say it's BS. Miles yanked his scholly. Period. PLain and simple and Luther Davis is pulling a Saban and doing EVERYTHING in his powers to make him look less like an ass.

So, "See ya, Luther! Blackwell is a better player and a better character person than you'll ever be!"

I cant imagine what Luther Davis is going through right now. Monroe is a SOLID LSU town. I bet he is catching he11. He needs to run out of town with his tail tucked.

He hasnt been on many of the aub recruits from what I hear but there is one I think they are going to pull from them. D-lineman from Hoover (aka 2-A-Day fame school). Chapman is his name. Saw him play twice this year and aubie will be sorry to lose him. The kid is hugely underrated due to the other kid on that line that was being recruited as a 4 star. Cant remember his name but this kid is better. He played nose gaurd in HS and was like a piece of concrete in the middle. Nobody moved him and nobody went around him.

Well...sheesh, what can you say. Satan is sure getting to some of these guys and he is using LSU as his springboard. The case he's making is hard to refute with young impressionable kids. He's using our very own program as an example to get players to Bama. As low down as it is he is doing it. I've never seen a coach come to a school and make as much headway on players that were not even on their recruting board as Satan has done at Bama. Freakin he11, in just a few weeks even. Excuse me while I go and puke.

I don't think he's made much headway honestly. Bo Pelini developed LSU's current Defense and the recruits know it. And to get a guy like Crowton to come here on Offense? That is a Huge upgrade IMO. Miles knows what he's doing.

When you get a commit from LSU who wasnt even on Bama's board and you get visits from recruits that didnt give bama a sniff all year that is head way. Sorry but there is no other way to spin it. Add to that the supposed abie commit they are about to steal and another from georgia and florida that sound like they may be leaning bamas way and it adds up to mind boggling. We'll see what happens on signing day but so far what Satan has done is remarkable.

I think we give Saban a bit too much credit here. Bama can start Davis pretty much immediately, whereas LSU already had 3 players in this recruiting class that were higher ranked than he was at his position, not to mention the many talented players on the D-line currently on the team he was going to have to contend with. It was a pretty easy sell for Saban. And he is the ultimate salesperson.
