Because of his lies!!!!! It's the way he handled it, not the fact that he went to Bama!!!!!!!!:thumb:
1. Coach Miles didn't like being lied to. 2. We are deep on the DL an we have other good DL commiments 3. Davis hasn't yet made grades or test scores 4. We are almost out of scholarships and had nothing but a gray shirt to offer Jason Peters, another 4-star DE. Davis should have honored his committment.
It goes without saying that the dude doesn't deserve hate mail/phone calls, but he sure as hell doesn't deserve a pass on his ongoing inability to tell the damn truth. Plus, reading the article, it sounds to me like someone's a little pissed off that LSU pulled his scholly. Wah, wah, wah. 1) I mean, he says that he sat down and decided what was best for him, LSU or Bama without mentioning that there was no choice because LSU pulled his scholly offer. 2) He says that it was all about what was best for him. Then he goes onto sing the praises of Saban, says his brother respects Saban (without mentioning a certain interview in which he mouthed off about Saban and the way he recruited his brother) and says that former LSU players now in the NFL who played for both Saban and Miles said he made the right decision to commit to Bama. WTF with the "what's best for me" if you're going to take potshots at LSU and Miles? 3) Then he talks about his grades/ACT scores, the unreliability of what he says about them already discussed here. 4) Finally, he makes another potshot at LSU by saying that he made a visit to La. Tech and that Bama was fine with it -- hell, those glorious, magnificent, fine people even encouraged the visit -- without mentioning once that he lied to the LSU coaches and the media about his visit to Bama. Heh, he uses prayer to feel better. "Dear Lord, please help people stop hating on me because I am a two-faced lying liar who lies." I really have to commend JM on the way he's conducted himself during the recruiting process. He comes across as a serious, smart guy who is trying to make a serious decision. He's been upfront about his intentions, hasn't shot his mouth off, or sought out media attention. I've respected his demeanor all along, but the recent LD drama really emphasizes how I feel. I can honestly say that no matter what school he attends, I hope the best for him. Where ever he plays football, he'll be a fine representative of our state. I certainly hope he's a Tiger in the end, but I certainly won't feel negative feelings if he decides that it's in his best interest to go elsewhere.
Why do people act as if 18 year olds are children that should not be held accountable for their actions? He's an adult for god's sake. Besides, deception and lying are not mistakes…they are character flaws.
I read the article and don't know if I believe anything that comes out of his mouth. He has dicredited himself over and over again.
I would respect them a whole lot more if they were to threaten them to his face. Any one can be a big man on the phone or the internet. Of, course, threatening someone bc they are going to Bama, that is when that person needs to evaluate his life.
I simply cannot understand why anyone still thinks any of this is about WHERE he went. It's about, for the umpteenth time, how he went about it.
I agree that Luther is a young man, 18 years old, and like us all at that age, has a lot of growing up to do. This kid needs someone to help him and give him some direction. If he wants to have some friends at home, he needs to change the way he operates and be a little more careful about what he says. He can go to Alabama, and I wish him well. It will not hurt him if Nick invokes the no-press rule for players because at this point Luther seems enjoy creating public relations problems for himself. Let’s see, according to Luther, Sidell Corley, Rolando Melancon, Chad Jones and Stefoin Francois are going to Alabama. If that is the case, then coaches for LSU, Texas, Fla. State, Tennessee, and several other schools are all wasting a lot of valuable recruiting time. If he is correct, a lot of us will be very sad. But I wonder how those recruits feel about Luther announcing their plans for them.
