I talked with a Bama friend of mine yesterday and he said he read in an Alabama paper that Luther Davis said that WM Head Coach Shows hates Saban and Alabama.

I called another friend of mine in the Monroe area to try to get confirmation and he follows the program closely and said it was true. Do not know what has happened between them lately but thank God this didn't happen when Saban was at LSU with the talent that comes from that HS program.

If a great La. kid is straight up with LSU about visiting Bama, and he chooses Bama, so be it. Part of the animous over LD is that he lied to Miles about taking the visit. There is some ill will over how it went down.

Now if he, or any young person has personal issues and that is interfering with his education or his football career (which could be bright and earn him a bunch of NFL bucks), then you have to pull for the kid to get it together, do well in school, and do well in his football career.

I hope LD comes around and does well. Just like I hope RP comes around and does well.

(I just hope LD doesn't have THE best game of his career against us, sorry Terry!)

This would be nice if true.

I found the article they were talking about with help from one of our members. Its on BamaMag.com and it basically says the same thing minus Saban. It was filled with a bunch of quotes from Luther trying to clear his name from rumors and allegations going around.

Says he will be back and basically calling out some columnist who did not get the facts right about his 2 brothers and the marriage rumors. He is engaged but his status on myspace is married because the females were still trying to come after him under the engaged status.:rolleye33: Why does anybody really care either way.

But why would he even mention his coaches feeling to the public? I recall him opening his mouth way too many times during the recruitment process. Kid is a sketchy character to say the least.

    He's back....

    http://blog.al.com/bamabeat/2008/03/luther_davis_zeke_knight_dress.html

Defensive lineman Luther Davis was back with Alabama's football team. Davis was dressed and participating in practice. Alabama coach Nick Saban cited "personal reasons" as why Davis was not with the team at the start of spring. Whatever was up with Davis apparently has been resolved and he wants to play football. He was in a red jersey, meaning he's cleared immediately for contact.

Don't know about the Saban thing, but Coach Shows is definitely a LSU guy. Last year right after the LD fiasco, Coach Shows wore an LSU cap on his weekly show - not a coincidence.:geauxtige I know several people close to some programs up this way, and most if not all want the kids to stay home.

Hopefully, HS coaches and kids like and respect the LSU coach and want to stay here, no matter who's coaching at bama or anywhere else.

If we do our business right, it doesn't matter what saban does.

I just hope the coaches realize it isn't about them, but the kid. It is great for kids to stay "home", many natural advantages for kids who do so. Coaches that shut off options because of personal bias, however, are not doing the kid a favor. These guys need to go where they have the best chance to succeed, it is their life.

Luvimtigers is correct, this is what should happen:

Coach Shows probably doesn't like Saban much but he is not the type who will work to take away options for his players.
