Why would a blogger be criticized for not mentioning an unsubstantiated rumor? Why would a guy that loves LSU risk giving credence to something that is most likely not true? Why would a guy who has had the history he has had with making false reports not want to learn from his mistakes? If he had waited until he could confirm it he might have been a little behind scout, rivals or even one of the legitimate sports news outlets, big deal. He also would have have reported a lie. Anyone who expects Don Long to be the leader in reporting LSU sports news and puts pressure on him to be the first to break a story is stupid. And if Don lets that pressue get to him he is stupid.
If he gets a full offer, he's a tiger. The question is does he turn down a full offer from GT (or whoever) to accept a grayshirt from the Tigers. My opinion is that if we fail to land a big time DE (Sidell Corey or another guy that has popped up late), then Peters gets a full offer & is a Tiger. If we land someone else, Peters gets a grayshirt offer (with the possability of a full offer if more than expected fail to qualify). His parents really want him at LSU, so that may be enough.
