It's not semantics today...with that post, I'll have to use the word slide. No offense CP, but at first you were adament that Davis wasn't going to Bama...you seem to be sliding a different direction now. No big deal...I'm hearing quite a bit about several different players...but, the word being issued is "find the duct tape, and keep it quiet." It's funny...hearing all these people on radio, etc...being critical of those that follow recruiting this time of the year. It seems to me they don't understand the pure entertainment value. Add to that, they have this notion that most fans follow what Rivals.com and Scout.com say to the letter. As much as I like NSD, I miss the stories the very next day. Would we be this involved in recruiting if our respective basketball teams were living up to pre-season billing? Hmmm...
I was never adament about Davis not going to Bama. I was adament that Davis was not visiting Alabama, but that is because I took his word for that - apparently I (and most everyone else) were wrong to do so. At first, I said only that I thought he would end up a tiger. My reasoning was because I believed that he did not like Saban & I figured the staff would not want to let him go for the principle of losing him to Saban. I still do not believe that Luther likes Saban, but the other half of my logic doesn't appear to be the case. Maybe we realize that Saban is going to get a recruit every once in a while & there isn't much we can do to stop him, might as well let Luther go since it is not a big position of need. Luther has been entertaining the entire recruiting process, but the past week or so has been especially entertaining. I love the drama.
to think that $atan wouldn't have any success is to underestimate him. as dan patrick says, "you can't stop him, you can only hope to contain him." if this is true, then good luck to mr davis. btw, he needs to work on his 40 time. his a$$ will be chasin' # 5 before long!
He did qualify his statement that it was unconfirmed. If he had waited until he could get confirmation and Tolliver committed before he could confirm his report, then he would have been criticized for not being on top of things. Either way is a risk, and he decided not to run the risk of missing a major committment.
That sure seems to be the case. I am really surprised that CNS has already upgraded our commitments this quickly. Man, I just hope we can be competitive with all the rest of the SEC in the next few years. TIA.
