Yes Don qualified that it wasn't one of his usual sources or something like that. I just got an e-mail from a friend of mine who follows recruiting VERY closely and said he heard the same thing. We'll see, who knows where this kid ends up.
Seems like Dandy is jumping the gun on several breaking news stories again before being able to confirm them. The guy really needs to be able to verify stuff before he goes public with it, he should remember all of the times that he came out with egg on his face and had to apologize. He's not a news organization that gets better ratings if he "breaks" news.
Why would kids even think about going to Bama at this stage? Do you realize the pressure that will be put on those kids to WIN now at Bama by Satin? The media and Bama nuts will be scrutinizing that program for the next three years. The first loss again a weak team this year, like Aurbarn, the media and fans will be circling Bryant Stadium. "Look team, they pay me $4mil a year to win. You better win or I will scream in your ear until you pass out." :lol:
just like people on this board, so its freedom of speech. If dandydon wants to break news before anybody else, let him. If he's wrong, so what. He's had a lot of good info thats straight forward. If you dont like his info, dont read it...plain and simple. I'd take his word over 3/4 of the people on this board, that jump to conclusions daily.
Dandydon is in an odd position as a sports blogger (of sorts)....and what I mean by that is on one hand you have the media, who have to make every attempt to "get it right". Then you have the everyday fan who can come on forums such as TF and post whatever the hell they want because they know they won't be held accountable. Then you have someone like dandydon. He's somewhere in the middle. His fanbase has obviously grown over the years and many many Tiger fans rely on his information. He has "some" level of accountability to do his absolute best to post information that is reliable and hopefully true. You can't just do what he does for shyt and giggles. He definitely crosses the line when he posts information which has pretty serious consequences for the parties involved that he is reporting on. I trust that he takes his status as pseudo-media very seriously.
I don't know if Luther has commited to Bama, but there's a lot of things going on here that fans don't know... It's crazy & has been a fun story to follow for Tigerrag subscribers. If Luther does go to Bama, it will not be because we lost him.
I think we either pull the scholarship, tell him he'd be better of at Bama, or just otherwise let him go.
