Randy Rosetta, Times Picayune, reports that Faulk "is likely done for the 2012 season with a major knee injury that will require surgery and long-term rehabilitation.
Three independent sources close to the LSU program confirmed the severity of Faulk's injury and said that the former Northshore High in Slidell star will likely be on the shelf for the rest of this season."

The last thing he needs is a repeat of what happened to Ciron Black.

"This is really a big loss for LSU," New Orleans-based NFL Draft analyst Mike Detillier said today. He said Faulk is the best LSU offensive lineman since Andrew Whitworth, who is entering his seventh season with the Cincinnati Bengals and has been their starting left tackle the last three seasons.
"Chris Faulk is the best left tackle in the SEC, no question about it."
Detillier said he listed Faulk before the season as the 17 th best player in the country and projected him as a sure-fire first-round draft pick.
"I love him as an athlete and for his ability to move his feet," Detillier said.
"He's a very good run blocker, but he really excels at protecting the quarterback and that's huge to the NFL. Quality left tackles in the NFL have become a scarce breed."

he said Hurst is a good RT but he doesn't like him at LT and that Collins may develop into a good LT down the road but he's not there yet

"the left side...is where LSU is going to be challenged now with Faulk out. Teams are going to really test LSU over there."

Feel like we lose a veteran O-lineman every year. Good thing is someone else usually steps in and the beat goes on. Sucks to lose him though

I think he'll still be a first rounder if he never plays again for LSU. Mike Detellier says he's the best left tackle in the nation...and that the pros have seen enough already.

Yes, if he rehabs successfully he may be done at LSU. That's a real blow. What next?

Dworaczyk has the size and height to play tackle. Not sure if he's quick enough for left tackle, especially coming off an injured year But at least he's experienced.
