I've noticed a few posts by some Bama fans on here, and I wanted to make a quick post also. I've been a lifelong Bama fan, and have been a lurker on this board for a while now. No-one outside of these two school's fan bases can understand the passion these fan's have for their respective teams, and I know how tough it is for the majority of the posters on this board today. Everyone should keep in mind that it was really all the success LSU has had against Bama over the last several years that set the stage for Bama's success last night. I'm not exactly sure of the numbers, but I think ya'll have beaten Bama something like 5 out of the last 7 games--something like that. And as a Bama fan I can tell you it has been extremely hard to deal with. Even though none of those games was for a NT, LSU fans just need to really take a step back and recognize how good ya'll's program has been overall since 2003, and know that it was that very winning of NT's and in beating Bama numerous times that really fueled the Bama desire that was on display last night. Unfortunately for LSU Saban really was able to use the defeat in T-Town to an extreme advantage in preparing Bama for the title game, and in a way it was a little unfair to LSU having to go up against them again. Anyway, I just wanted to say that I really enjoy the passion on this board, and I think we can all embrace what is now clearly the best rivalry in college football. I have no doubt ya'll will most likely get sweet revenge in Baton Rouge next November. Anyway, congrats on an amazing year, and I'm just happy we were able to get a win last night against such a tough team.
Very nice post. This is why I detest rematches in college football. The scenario almost always favors the team who lost first. It's hard enough beating a coach of Saban's caliber once. When you have to do it again, handcuffing yourself in the process, you're asking for what happened last night.
Welcome to the board and congrats on a well deserved victory. However I'm calling BS on this part. Bama's success last night was due 100% to better preparation and game planning. Bama was no more motivated than LSU, Bama just had a plan of attack (and a QB) while LSU did not. Saban earned his pay, Miles DID NOT! I'd still take Miles over Satan every day of the week. Miles seems to learn from this mistake and this one was a big big lesson. Hopefully it's lesson learned.
