This is because of the McCarty/Hicks situation. So can only take a max of 23 recruits in the 2011 class. Probably going to take that or less anyway. Go to 83 scholarship players next season. Reduced the # of official visits this year which is going to be low already with the early commitments we received this year. One of the many reasons our football program is clean. As you stated, AU take note, this is how it is supposed to be done.
Doesn't sound like much of a punishment though I don't know that there should be for something not all THAT bad anyway. "Clean" programs self-impose scholarship reductions? We may be "clean" but it ain't squeaky. Looks like WE took notes. :hihi: Kinda like Cam "not knowing"?
We may not be squeaky clean, but there is a reason we are never in trouble, and it's because we clean our own house. Which is the way it should be done, that way the NCAA doesn't come snooping around and find what just might be hiding in the closets. :hihi:
I figured you did, it's just that I am bored and the board isn't happenin so I just thought I would add something to hear myself talk.:hihi: Just like this post.
That gurgling sound is the calm before the volcanic NCAA eruption. Of course, if you can prove most of those phone calls went to the parents, you can get in the appeal's line with USC. Stirring, stirring, stirring.
Also why I assumed a more controversial viewpoint to try and charge the thread a bit. You were a lot more fun when I could make you mad. Great to have Bama posters during these times- being real familiar with the violation(s) process they should be able to offer us a lot of perspective.
If this was going to amount to anything more than it is, the NCAA would have already been up our ars. Miles and his staff were pretty proactive on this. Isolated the problem, eliminated the problem, imposed punishment for the problem.
