I thought Bama fans were the king of thinking they will get every recruit?

Yeah, #1 Safety and #1 dual QB this year. #1 CB last year. #1 Safety and #1 WR the year before. All from out of state, with the exception of Jones.

Surely this is the inevitable slide I hear so much about...

Unless he was hurt, based on his performance in the game I wouldn't be surprised. He had better reviews in practice, so maybe that will help him hold on to that 5th star. Downs actually looked much better than Davenport in the other game.

Not sure if rivals.com will drop him at this point due to injury.

If it was strictly performance, I would say yes.

He will fall only because other players that were high 4 star players have been elevated in the 5 star range (e.g., Michael Ford). Another 4 or 5 of those and Davenport will fall just outside of being a 5 star DT.

We all know how dominating he can be when healthy.

    That's all that counts.

I honestly don't see any. Ferrell, the LB & that OL, that both decommitted were widely expect to do so & it was not against our coaches' wishes.

Janzen Jackson is the only possibility I see, and I absolutely expect him to sign with LSU.

    Update:

    Locks/Near Locks
    Randle
    Mingo
    Benton

    Leans/Slight Leans
    Montgomery
    Logan (greyshirt)
    TJones (greyshirt)

    Toss Ups
    Myles
    Sua'Filo
    Kelley
    Singleton
    Johns (greyshirt)

    Some Work To Do
    Debose
    Stinson
    JJones

    Outside Looking in
    Richardson
    Telfort
    Holloman
    Campbell
    Stewart
    Fluker
    McCallister
    Hall
    Kirkpatrick
    Charles
    Sentimore
    Lacy

    Finishing Class:
    Randle
    Benton
    Mingo
    Montgomery
    Myles or Kelly
    Logan (greyshirt)
    TJones (greyshirt)

    Notes:
    (1) If we lose Myles, then Johns would probably be offered a greyshirt.
    (2) If we don't get Kelly as well then Logan is upgraded to a full scholarship.
    (3) That's 26 full commitments and 2 greyshirts, Benton would count back to 2008, which puts LSU back at the 25 limit for 2009.

Seems reasonable, but this staff has constantly found a way to surprise us with punters and fullbacks and guys off the radar. However, I think this time we finally have them figured out. Until they surprise us again.

Well Singleton will be a surprise to many if he gets an offer.

Many feel we don't need 2 FBs in a class that is this close to being finished and tight on numbers.

I say we get him ONLY if we fail on a few others (Myles/Montgomery/another WR). That will probably be the condition under which he is offered.

With Johns officially being a part of this class as a greyshirt, I still have:

    22. Benton
    23. Mingo
    24. Randle
    25. Montgomery
    26. Myles/Kelly (someone already committed would have to greyshirt, Claiborne or Barrow most likely)
    27. Johns (greyshirt)
    28. Logan/TJones (greyshirt)

I don't how many LSU will be willing to greyshirt and count towards 2010. Three sounds like a bit much.

Jan. 23rd will be an interesting weekend with Logan, Montgomery, Kelly and Randle all on officials to LSU. Look for LSU to press Montgomery to commit on the spot.

    TJones visits on the 16th.

    Duplessis counts back to 2008.

I think debose needs to be moved to "outside looking in"

Great list though, thanks for the update.
