I agree we will take what we expected, around 26 recruits this class. However, we already have five 5* prospects. Shep Benton Davenport Loston Ford Add Randle and we have 6 according to Rivals and 5 according to Scout as of now. (Ford will likely move to a 5 on Rivals)
:geaux: Will Benton count towards this years totals, or is there any chance he wouldn't? I'm not sure how that works, but heard there was a possibility he wouldn't count against the '09 class scholly availability. :LSU231:
Your job is to have unbridled enthusiasm and expect every player that LSU wants to sign on the dotted line. My job is to be skeptical until they sign on the dotted line. Here's a question for you and the more sober CParso. Every year one or two of our commitments wavers and goes elsewhere and every year we get an unexpected late player or two. Who do you think are weak commits and who might just sign with LSu out of the blue in February?
I would rate them as follows (from weakest to least weak): 1) Debose 2) Richardson 3) Campbell 4) Chaisson 5) Fluker 6) Moore
This witty post by a Bama fan on Tidefans made me laugh: Between McFarland criticizing them in the New York Times piece, Campbell sticking with Michigan, and Debose going to Florida, I guess it's a good thing that we lost to Utah or half of that fan base would be jumping in Pontchartrain right now. The LSU fans, many of them anyway, just cannot grasp the fact that, while they are doing extremely well in recruiting, they are simply not going to get every single recruit they want. LSU is a fine program, but it's just one of many fine programs, and they are going to lose out on a lot of top prospects to programs like Texas, Oklahoma, Alabama, Florida, and others. I don't know why that concept is so hard for them to grasp... it's not like they are not getting their fair share.
That is funny. So we are locking down the state like usual and stealing players from Tenn, Texas, Florida, and Georgia. So a negative is that we are not getting additional out-of-state players that we shouldn't be getting anyway. Just the fact we are in the top of the list for all these guys across the country is a great sign of where our program is heading. :geauxtige
