Gonna post another update on players left on the board and my perceived percentages. New players like Campbell, Myles, Montgomery, even Dye and Armstrong have either entered the picture or re-entered the picture. Stay tuned.
Did you come up with your percentage for each player we are still after especially Randle and DeBose? I know I asked you a few days ago and you said DeBose was going to be ours. Any reason you think so or is it that you hope so? I am starting to feel better about Randle for some reason but bad about Janzen Jackson staying commited. Just that there are some rumors flying around.
I have a hard time believing that. There would be some very unpleasant realities to face for about 5 scholarship athletes (and their families, and their high school coaches) if we took 30. Seems tempting, but in the end I would imagine the coaching staff would have to p!ss off a LOT of folks to find a place for 30 recruits. We'll know on Feb 4th, I guess.
The 30 includes Benton and Duplessis. So I guess I should have prefaced it. So 28 new recruits. If Campbell and Debose commit like a lot are saying they will, then we may get into a serious number crunch. So let's say for the sake of argument we get the following: Loston Randle Debose Campbell Mingo Benton Duplessis That's 27. What if Myles and Montgomery, who currently list LSU as their leader come on board? That's 29. Then with the announcement that Chavis is our DC, it opens up hard recruitment for JJones and maybe even someone like Nico Johnson, Tana Patrick or Frankie Telfort. We would stand a decent chance of landing one of them. That's 30. What if Dye or Stinson want to come on board? Do we take them? They are takes, btw. Then don't sleep on Su'a Filo or Martinez or Hall. Martinez is projected as a center and we definitely need one since Downs appears to be too good to take off the D-line. It's not crazy to think one may fall our way. That's 32. I don't know where the coaching staff would deny someone.
Interesting list - and an annual debate. The part that I wonder about is how the coaches make room. One or two transfers are normal. But I think the 25-26 number ALREADY INCLUDES that as an assumption. In fact, I think the coaches have known RJF was in his last year at LSU all along. So, if you get to 30 or (no way) 32, that's between 4 and 6 more folks that have to leave. I'm sure an extra 2 or 3 could be made to happen without harmful controversy. But an extra 4 to 6? I'm no expert - but politics is politics. At some point, the stable will be full and Miles and staff may have to turn folks away. Just an opinion.
