Obviously, I hope you are right, but you are one of the most optimistic posters on this forum.

Don't discourage him. There are plenty of the other types and we don't want them to take over.

Damn, I commissioned plbjr to do the next installment of LSU recruiting for me.

    Guess not.

    Update:

    Locks/Near Locks
    Loston
    Mingo
    Debose
    Benton

    Leans/Slight Leans
    Randle

    Toss Ups
    Montgomery
    Myles
    JJones
    Dye
    Sua'Filo
    Kelley

    Some Work To Do
    McFarland
    Bostic
    Martinez
    Nixon
    Richardson
    Armstrong
    Telfort
    Stinson

    Outside Looking in
    Holloman
    Campbell
    Jenkins
    Stewart
    Fluker
    McCallister
    Hall
    Brown
    Kirkpatrick
    Charles
    Singleton
    Sentimore
    Lacy

    Gaining Momentum
    Logan
    Johns
    TJones
    Robinson

    Note:
    1) Both Logan and Johns will probably both get offered if we do not get the DE and S we want. Tahj Jones may be our backup option for the OLB position, should he be able to get his grades in order.
    2) A new credible DC should help us with Montgomery, Bostic, Jones and Myles. Don't even count out McFarland just yet. :)
    3) It appears as though LSU would nab Kendall Kelly if Bama somehow gets Randle. Kelly is a 6'4" 4.45 40 receiver, so I won't be disappointed.

My best guess finishing this class:

    Randle - 5 star (#1)
    Loston - 5 star (#23)
    Benton - 5 star (2007/2008 classes)
    Debose - 5 star (#24)
    Montgomery or Dye - 4 star (#53 or #172)
    Jones or Bostic - 4 star (#45 or #68)
    Myles or Armstrong - 4 star (#87 or #102)
    Mingo - 4 star (#174)

    28 players total

4.14 average, 8 five stars, 16 four stars, 4 three stars

I'm really hoping Debose/Loston are the locks you guys say they are.. :crystal:

Someone get Ford his 5th star. He earned it.. I want the 8 five-stars. How epic would that be

If Ford gets his 5 star and Benton does count as a 5 star player, that would give us 9 five star players, breaking USC's record of 8.

I would be a bit disappointed if Ford does not get his 5th star. He will most certainly enter the top 50.

    8 or 9..

I could care less about the star-power tbh. What gets me is the character of these athletes. I just feel like it's going to be last years class on steroids.

[FWIW my 'Michael Ford' on NCAA 2009 (PSP) is an absolute stud as a freshmen. Came in at like 84 overall as a true frosh. 2010 season JJ is a favorite to win the heisman.. season simulation.

Oddly enough it predicted the J. Lee INT machine too. I chalked it up to my poor QB skills though.. ]

What's the latest on Randle islstl? Will the #1 ranking make him wait until NSD to sign?

Is he for sure a more LSU lean than Bama? If we lose Randle to Alabama that will not look good.

I got LSU 60/40 still. I think it's still LSU/Bama no matter how many rumors keep popping up about Miami and OU. And there will be several more to come I am sure.

Losing Randle to Bama won't look good yes. If he wasn't the #1 player in the country, maybe we wouldn't be sweating it so much.

Can you imagine LSU gets 5, 6 maybe even 7 five star recruits, finishes first in recruiting and still loses Randle? LSU fans would still be in meltdown mode over it. Add on to the fact we lose him to Saban, and the ramifications of what that could mean the upcoming years. I don't buy that it would open up the floodgates, not even close. It could be a one time thing.

I've read some pretty stupid rumors suggesting that RR wants to go to LSU but his dad doesn't want him playing for Miles because he thinks hes a joke. His brother said none of that is true obviously. And I think that is a pretty stupid rumor considering what I've heard about RR's dad...apparently he loves LSU and his family loves both Miles and Saban.
