Nobody has been able to corroborate that report about Campbell. I still list him as a longshot. With Kiffen at Tennessee, look for them to be all over him and get him back in the fold.
Dandy Don got some bad info on Campbell. It has been confirmed by Davenport that he did not say that to him. Just regular visit conversations. Strong Michigan lean. We backed off Brown some after a poor showing at the USC Camp and the coaches knew Tenn had a strong lead for him. Now that he is getting out of basketball many thought he would look to leave the state but he still looks like a Tenn commit in the end. Kiffen showed him some big love when he went straight to see him after his press conference when he was announced the as the new head coach.
Based on latest rivals rankings: Projected 5 star commits 1 Randle 5 Shepard 16 Jackson 23 Loston 24 Debose 26 Davenport NR Benton Looks like LSU will get 7 five star recruits. Which means LSU will finish #1 in the rivals rankings, with absolutely nothing USC can do to overtake us. USC likely to finish with 5 five star recruits.
Any chance Faulk or Ford get their 5th star? If we miss out on Randle [don't think we will] we could still potentially land 7. If we hit the jackpot.. we could have 8 (or more, lmao) incoming 5-stars. :miles:
Word is Ford is being reassessed this week. Thus, he stayed pretty much the same spot. Look for him to move up really close to a 5th star. I believe he should take Christine Michael's place at #28, or somewhere very close to that. There is absolutely no way he is only the 9th best RB in this class. Not sure if Faulk will move up anymore.
That's mind-boogling to even think about. Even if we just end up with four Rivals 5-star recruits, that will be the most we have ever taken. LSU's previous record is three Rivals 5-star recruits (2004 -- Xavier Carter, Early Doucet, and Claude Wroten). In all the other classes we have only gotten one or two.
We get these guys PLUS Ford, Faulk, Lowe, Pratt, Calhoun, Minter & hopefully Mingo?! WOW!!! Great class!!! :crystal::geaux::crystal::geaux::crystal:
Brockers, Bell, Downs, Ainsworth and Hicks are no slouches either. Even even guys like Allen, Claiborne, Barrow and Garrett all could end up with a 4th star. Allen at FB is actually one of my favorite recruits. I am feeling really good we get either Bostic or Jones (maybe both but not likely). Let's see what a new DC at LSU does to pull these 2 guys in. No way Telfort can be out of the picture entirely, either. Keep an eye on him. This class is just beyond phenomenal.
