So, you are there at practices, meetings, and other detailed moments to know these things? I mean, I have a perception that CGC is not all he is purported to be, and subjectively feel I have not seen significant QB development, but I don't really know. You speak as if you have first hand, witnessed insight, and are there day to day. Do you have this level insight, or are you just saying what you think is true and trying to be as convincing as possible?

This is the answer, we try to do too much, jack of all trades, master of not a damn thing. Who are we offensively, I'll tell you a bipolar schizophrenic mental patient. The spread, i-formations, pro-style, 3 TE sets? Out of all of those which do we excel at? None of them.

I don't think that resonable people can figure out our Football QB problems.

I know that LSU Football Fans can't figure it out.

I commented on USC's QB's.....you can't tell me all of those guys were recruited on the "up-and-up". You start giving out freebies and of course you're going to attract top talent so maybe I should have said I RESPECT the job OU has done because I certainly don't respect USC's program.

    You exaggerate.

Other schools have other issues of their own. Ours is at QB. Perrilloux and Shepard were 5-star quarterback recruits that Les has acquired. We were on Tebow's short list, too. He's going after quarterbacks.

Had to chuckle at the first BOLD... Ok, so you don't want to see us recruit an athelete because he's a two-sport guy??? Do you KNOW how many of those exist in the top 150 prospects?? That pretty much lists all of them and more than just a couple that are ledgit pro baseball players.

And you know you'd be one of the first in line to complain if Miles never bothered with a certain player because he was "two sport" and if the kid went to 'Bama or the like, you KNOW the talk would be why Miles didn't take the chance.

You recruit the best players out there. You can't simply ignore a recruit because of his ability to play another sport.

And as for being the "Patrick Peterson of the QB position"...well, that's good. But I thought you wanted a Tebow or Peyton type of QB....those guys, like Kevin Faulk here, STAYED 4 years! ...I don't think PP is here after this year.

This is a forum, it's designed to promote discussion and give opinions. That's all I'm doing. I've never claimed to have insider info or attend practices. I could be 100% wrong or offbase here, but I have eyes and a working brain. Frankly, I think the results speak for themselves. Hatch got beat up and transferred to Harvard. Until we see evidence to the contrary (which might come as soon as Saturday), Lee looks as if his freshman campaign has completely screwed up his head for the game. IMO the signs point to Les putting all his QB eggs in Perrilloux's basket and got caught with no real backup plan when he kicked him off the team. But, as I said in the original post, I was willing to give Les the benefit of the doubt, since bad luck and bad apples happen to every coach. Truth be told, however, as soon as Perrilloux started running off at the mouth about how he was going to win 4 Heisman's at LSU, that would have been a major red flag indicating that you better have a backup plan, like recruiting another quality QB, just in case this guy doesn't work out.

Now in 2010 we are right back at square 1 with QBs. We have gone from potentially having 2 schollie 3rd string QBs and future starters to zero. We will likely have yet another woefully inexperienced QB starting for LSU in 2012. There's bad luck, and then there's bad preparation and planning, and the way the Garrett/Zach Lee situation was handled indicates mismanagement rather than bad luck (again, just my opinion). Again, I can understand recruiting a dual sport athlete as something like a safety or receiver, but not QB. It's a position that's too important to not devote 100% time and effort to, and puts your team in too much jeopardy if baseball injuries occur. Have you seen the number of LSU pitchers lately requiring Tommy John surgery? Imagine what would happen to a football team needing Zach Lee to return as a starting QB, but he's sidelined recovering from surgery. Anyway, just my opinion, agree or disagree.
