Compare 2008 LSU to 2005 Oklahoma:

    In 2004, Oklahoma finished 12-1.

In 2005, Oklahoma started out the season ranked #7 in the preseason AP Poll. Oklahoma finished the regular season 7-4. They had no quality wins (the only teams they beat that had winning records were 8-4 Nebraska and 7-5 Kansas). They lost to a Mountain West team, TCU, 10-17, they got blown out by UCLA 24-41, they got blown out by Texas 12-45, and they lost to a Texas Tech team that finished #20 in the final poll.

Yet, Oklahoma is still considered one of the most elite programs in the country.

You could say that Stoops is just a better coach than Miles.

However, when Miles was head coach at Oklahoma State, he beat Stoops twice. Then, when LSU hired Miles, he stole Stoops' DC and brought him to LSU.

Compare Miles vs Stoops over the last three years...

2007 Stoops: lost to a 6-7 Colorado team, got blown out 28-42 by #11 West Virginia, lost to a Texas Tech team that finished #22 in the final poll. Wins over teams that finished in the Top 25: #4 Missouri, #10 Texas.

2007 Miles: lost to an 8-5 Kentucky team, lost to a 8-5 Arkansas team. Wins over teams that finished in the Top 25: #5 Ohio State, #9 Virginia Tech, #12 Tennesee, #13 Florida, #15 Auburn.

2006 Stoops: lost to a 7-6 Oregon team, lost to a WAC team (Boise State), lost 10-28 to a Texas team that finished at #13 in the final poll. Wins over teams that finished in the Top 25: NONE.

2006 Miles: lost to an Auburn team that finished #9 in the final poll, lost to a Florida team that was the National Champions. Wins over teams that finished in the Top 25: #25 Tennessee, #17 Notre Dame, #15 Arkansas.

    2005 Stoops: see above

2005 Miles: lost to a 5-6 Tennessee team, lost to a Georgia team that finished #10 in the final poll. Wins over teams that finished in the Top 25: #8 Alabama, #12 Florida, #14 Auburn, #17 Miami.

I'm sure in 2005 their were Oklahoma fans that didn't think Stoops was as great as a coach as you do now.

Bob Stoops is 102-22 and completely rebuilt that program by himself. He has also won three out of the last four Big XII conference titles. Lets not be ridiculous.

I see you changed your post:
His 8 win season was sandwiched between seasons of 13,11,12,12,12 wins and two eleven win seasons + this year. Oklahoma fans arent retarded, even if their QB looks like he is.

After the way they have shown up in BCS games lately, I am glad he isn't.

I'd hate going to BCS games every year. Sounds like a terrible problem for dem Sooners.

And yet, when Miles was at Okie St, he was 2-2 against Stoops and has done better than Stoops from 2005-2007. Amazing.

Stoops has only lost twice at home. I know they mentioned one of them.

Is the other game Okie State under Miles?

Stoops: 36-5. Two Big XII titles. Other year made BCS title game.
    Miles: 24-14

    2005-2007
Stoops: 30-10. Two Big XII titles.
Miles: 33-6 One SEC title. 1 NC.

You might want to look at the whole resume'. This obviously doesn't include another span that included a NC. Again, lets not be ridiculous Johnny. Les can still be a GREAT coach while not being as good as another coach.

Yes. It was in 2001. Oklahoma was ranked #4 in the nation at the time.

And that is impressive that Stoops only lost twice at home, but they never play Texas at home, they always play them in Dallas. It's hard to believe looking at the Big 12 this year, but during the time Stoops has been at Oklahoma, the Big 12 has been a pretty weak conference.
