I was kind of surprised Lee was chosen on that last drive attempt.

We've tried one Qb with Jefferson and it didn't work. We've tried the two-Qb system and it didn't work. The logical next step is to try one QB with Lee and see if he can establish rhythm with the offense.

Two weeks ago I would have agreed to this, however, it seems now that when Lee is in, Crowton forgets about Ridley. Ridley has proven to be a HARD runner every game. They abandoned him WAY to early in the AU game IMO. Kind of ticked me off.

Other than that year, give Lee 1 game from start to finish to see...

    A few thoughts:

    1. I fully expected a season like this one. I saw the spring game. It was clear that there was no offensive improvement over last season.

    2. This team has a very good record, considering the lack of a passing attack.

    3. People are quoting statistics that show good QB pass completion rates. They are meaningless because the passes completed are behind the line of scrimmage. We simply have an inablility to throw for a first down.

    4. Why are we unable to pass the ball against bad defenses? Poor coaching is part of the problem.

    5. Les is a great leader, recruiter, and a player's coach. I like that about him. But with his weakness in game time situations, he needs very good coordinators.

    6. If Les fails to replace Crowton at the end of this year, I am afraid it will lead to his (Les's) replacement in the next 2 years. Anyone remember Denardo?

    7. Because of our talent and D, we could win out. But every game will be close, and that is unlikely.

    8. None of this will lead to the ultimate demise of LSU football. Our recruiting is so strong, we are going to remain a powerhouse. Many people's expectations are too high. The way to win championships is to hang around the top ten every year, and wait till almost everything just goes your way!

Not firing Crowton in the offseason would be inexcusable. Blaming a 100th/120 ranked offense solely on bad QBs is a copout, and a bad one at that. There are plenty of teams with young talent and worse QBs, and they don't all reside in the bottom 20. The problem is I don't know what program would take Crowton at this point with his now extensive track record, so Les may have to play the bad guy for once and outright fire him without another job lined up.

Very reasonable take on all matters.

I'm tired of a poor offense. I believe Crowton should have made improvments by now. Bring back Jimbo! PS I've been gone awhile. I liked the old forum "look" better. :thumb:

    YEP .. I agree wholeheartedly.

Lee and Jefferson are way better than they are playing. I 'm convinced that the problem is the OC. I dont' care how good you are .. a bad OC can make you look like crap.
