YES Crow & Studs must GEAUX!! They have not coached up their players at all and wasted talent. When I have seen Wiliford play he seems to do well. A minor comment not defense of studs is that you can't sub as freely on the O line as coordination between positions is very important. We should let the 2nd line play and carefully sub individuals to provide experiance and game time evaluation.
i totally agree. if you have a line that works, then those 5 guys should play most/all of the snaps in games that matter. what people forget is that the line played extremely well against florida which may not have a national championship defense but it's still pretty damn good. would love to see that line again. i think the only player to be subbed in that game was faulk just for a couple of plays.
also to add to that, Jay Howard for Florida is a beast, and I wouldn't put him in the same category as Nevis and Fairley, but he is still a damn good pass rusher at the defensive tackle position, and he was totally neutralized when we played Florida.
One was playing with a hurt wrist. BEFORE the injury he was 7/10. It was clear his injury was affecting him, that's why JJ played more in the 2nd half. And why our offense was anemic
:geaux: Agree with you here. I realize that subbing in players on OL & DL are much different, especially considering the coordination and chemistry issues. Just think Faulk, Williford, Shaw & Branch could be getting a little more PT. Also thinking it may not be the best situation to have both Lonergan & T-Bob both playing just about every snap in the same line. Who are our centers besides these two? Blackwell was one but he's out. If one or both (heaven forbid) get hurt we could be up Shyts Creek for a center. :LSU231:
Hell Shaw is a junior and the only time i have ever seen him is when we take a timeout and they huddle around Miles. What the hell happened to this kid?
Jefferson/Lee 2 headed nightmare will captain the ship again in 2011. Maybe Metzenberger starts in 2012, but then he'll be inexperienced at the D-1 level of college football. so i guess its safe to assume that just because he is a qb at a juco level school,he cant come to LSU and win the starting position....remember this..FOOTBALL IS FOOTBALL..curt warner came from the arena league and led the rams to a superbowl championship...jim tressel came from a div 1aa school and led ohio state to a national championship...doug williams came from little ole grambling state and led the redskins to a superbowl win...jerry rice came from mississippi valley and became one of the best wide outs in nfl history...terry bradshaw..4 superbowls....walter payton..etc...the list goes on and on...my point being .. it doesnt matter where you come from...jefferson and lee have been playing at a div1 level for 2 or 3 yrs...what have they accomplished........
I would agree with everything you said except this statement. JJ and JL have not been playing at a D-1 level, they have been getting by in a D-1 program.
