So your only problem with my research is that 4:00 isn't at night. Go ahead and move Alabama to a day game. It's still not as skewed as you wanted to believe.

well this year be aware that with the new contract you could see LSU games on espn at 11:30 am.

so no matter the network, we want games at night, regardless of how we think the team plays, i'm in a better mood with a full day of tailgating.

that's what LSU is all about.

edit: oh and fwiw, i think LSU plays better at night. spurrier didn't try and fight to get all those night games moved to day games when he was at UF for nothing.
there's something to that and for those who disagree, pick the ten best most electrifying game atmospheres you've been to at tiger stadium and tell me how many were during the day.
some will say notre dame or usc (i think that was a day game, i was too young) and recently UGA 03.

    and that's it.

face it the sun needs to be down for it to be "death valley" otherwise you're just watching a game in tiger stadium and it's like being at bama/ole miss/florida/tenn/auburn etc.

No, my point is that the tougher games were the CBS games (as they should be), hence the disparity in record between the games played on the two networks.

    Simple math.

when I get time to quit being lazy, I'll dig up the old thread on here that broke down our conference day/night games by opponents records going back to the mid/late 90's.

contrary to popular belief, our toughest games have been night games.
and we have a better record in those night games.

ESPN does get to choose before CBS for a few weeks out of the season. So it's not always a given that CBS gets the premier match ups.

ok, found one of the threads I mentioned earlier
    let's check toughness of opponent:

    well, there goes that theory

wow, even bigger disparity than even I remember

still think CBS is giving us our toughest games?

At least in the last two years. You're failing to note that those Florida games were on CBS. Add Florida to CBS as night games and take them away from ESPN and the "toughness" shifts significantly between the two networks.

IMO of course. This is just offseason discussion stuff to waste time for the next 44 days.

Actually I think more Tiger fans care about the Day\Night thing rather than the network carrying it. If CBS aired all of our games primetime, nobody would have a problem with CBS. It really is a different beast when LSU plays under the lights.

i heard that this goes out the window with the new espn deal and now CBS always gets 1st choice now.

    can anyone confirm this?

espn always seemed to love the AU game when it was here.
