According to this Oregon site.. OregonLive.com UO Football Forum lol by kcduck, 08/11/11 7:33 PM Re: LSU's defense...by grickle, 08/11/11 7:33 PM rolling from the end of the last one. LSU's defense is not only slow, they're smallish too. At least you've got that juggernaut offense to pin your hopes on. I don't get it. Really, do they only watch Oregon play ball?
trust me, LSU has Oregon's full attention. I talked to a couple of players 2 nights ago, and they definitely respect the speed and size of LSU.
 This defense has more than enough team speed, the size is more than good. LSU will mix coverages well. They will bring pressure.
I like this post on that forum: 10 Reasons LSU will defeat Oregon by Bayoulsucajun, 08/11/11 7:33 AM 1. Preparation Time - LSU does a great job prepping for season openers and bowls. Miles dominates bowl games with a long time to prep for an opponent. We have destroyed Miami, Notre Dame, Texas A&M, Ohio St, etc... in Miles tenure with long layoffs. Oregon is bad in long prep times. Boise St., Ohio St., Auburn are all examples. 2. The Trenches - LSU returns 4 o-line starters, and is known as defensive line u. Oregon's weakest part are their lines. 3. The crowd - LSU will dominate Jerry World. They sold their allotment of tickets, and another 15,000 people will make the trip and not even go in the stadium. Oregon couldn't even get rid of their tickets. Oregon fans and players are in a rude awakening. 4. Tradition - LSU is a top all time program including 3 bcs championships and a rich history. Oregon is a newcomer who hasn't won anything yet. 5. CLiff Harris - With him out, ORegon has no one to defend Rueben Randle. He will have a field day. 6. Steve Kragthorpe - Yes, Kragthorpe has been downgraded to QB's coach, but he will still be involved with the gameplan and playcalls. His offensive knowledge is what lsu needed this season. 7. The Auburn Game - Auburn showed how to stop ORegon's offense in the championship game. NEwsflash, LSU's defense is 10 times better than Auburn's was. 8. Tyrann Mathieu - He is a turnover forcing machine. He will be in the nickel spot most of the night and will wreak havoc on the ORegon offense. 9. LSU's RB Depth - Oregon doesn't have to prepare for 1 running back, they have to prepare for 3 different types. Spencer Ware is an all purpose guy. He can run inside and out, catch and even threw a td last season. Michael Ford is great in the option and is a speed guy. Alfred Blue is the bruiser of the bunch. 10. LSU's defense depth - LSU can handle Oregon's pace due to our depth on defense. The tigers go 9 deep in the secondary with zero dropoff. They also go 10 deep at d line with no dropoff. The ducks pace is not a big deal.
