here is where i get lost. lets say we run the table and there is an 1 loss Texas, a 1 loss Ohio State, a 1 loss Penn State, a 1 loss USC, a 1 loss LSU, 1 loss Alabama, and a 1 loss Oklahoma. how could we not make it in????? That USC team has the biggest cupcake schedule of all time with the exception of the Ohio State game, but the media lusts over USC. Penn State would have lost to Ohio State who would have lost to USC. If we win out and were to play Florida in the SECCG i have to believe that we are in because on a neutral field our only loss albeit a blowout, was avenged. Alabama, Penn St. and Oklahoma would not make it because they didnt win their conference. I have to believe that we are in if we take care of business and win out. Unless we play Georgia again in the SECCG. What we need to happen, to win out the rest of the regular season 1st and foremost. We need Ohio State to beat Penn State. We need to play florida in the SECCG and win and if all of those things happen, i would think that there is no way we would be left out. If we play Georgia in the SECCG (if we win out the regular season) i think that it really hurts us and USC will be in the MNCCG playing Texas. But................. Texas would have to have that 1 loss come in the regular season and not their CCG. Then i have to believe you would have LSU vs. USC.....:huh::huh::huh: lets just hope that we can finish this season out with all wins, and our goal right now should be an SEC championship. :geaux::geaux:
I would have to say that if we do not lose another game, that the college nation would give us a chance to defend our title. In the game vs SC, I had flash backs of Saban and the blitzing machine. I cried with happiness at the sight of a smash mouth D fighting for glory. I am glad the Florida loss happened the way it did. I feared that if it was a close game and we still would have lost, the team would not have learned a valuable lesson. I like the old system that came to life in the SC game with using multiple RB's and such. Keeps the legs fresh and the D on edge.... I think the pressure is off our team now and we will start to see a very talented and young team develop. Even if we finish this year with another loss, it is still a great year and may god have mercey on the teams we face next year.......... :geaux::crystal::helmet::geauxtige:tigereye::LSU231: Pray for you're Louisiana troops!
Won't have to in the human polls. If we were below them in the rankings, then the computer aspect would more than take care of it. They are tenth in computer polls now and will only get worse. If LSU is able to pull this off, then we all know the computers will favor LSU. The math is not this simple but... USC (2+2+10)/3 = 7.xxxxxx LSU (3+3+5)/3 = 3.xxxxx Now, time for izzlemajiggle to chime with a more valid response.
Although USC has a soft schedule this season, I believe many voters will give them the benefit of the doubt because it is not their fault. Their OOC schedule was at Virgina, Ohio State, and Notre Dame. This is the part of the schedule in which teams can control and they get a lot of respect from the coaches and media for not scheduling cupcakes every year or 8 home games. Although the Pac-10 is down, the voters will not blame that on USC as it is not their fault. People want to boast about strenght of schedule yet do not want to include OOC games. They want to talk about the SEC or Big 12 schedule as if the schools had anything to do with scheduling those games. USC gets the benefit in the polls because they schedule big time opponents out of conference which is something not done by most of the other elite teams.
This is what I am banking on. LSU wins out and can hopefully face a top 2 ranked Florida for the SEC CG, then the winner will be proclaimed as the one going to the NC, even if LSU is #4 or #5 in the rankings at the time.
Exactly, the rules have changed in the human polls after last year. This "body of work" idea worked out really well for LSU last year, and would do the same for whomever deserves it this year. In other words, USC will be phucked out of a chance. Computers won't be their friend and the humans won't come to their rescue....enough.
