Miles sticking with Jefferson | DailyComet.com

LSU receiver Russell Shepard, who came to LSU as a quarterback before switching this season to receiver, said he has no interest in getting back under center full time and even joked at the expense of those who’ve suggested on talk radio that he’d be better than Jefferson or Lee.

“I’m going to be the greatest quarterback to never throw a pass here,” Shepard said with a chuckle.

Shepard then described how Jefferson apologized to the team and pledged to improve after the Vanderbilt game.

“For the most part, he’s doing a great job,” Shepard said. “He possess a lot of traits that a lot of great quarterbacks have. ... He’s very calm. He doesn’t get too high or too low and he doesn’t flinch when it comes to competition.”

JJ doesnt seem to show ANY emotion. We need emotion! We need anger, leadership, devotion, purple & gold blood!

Who remembers when Mike Vanderjagt (the idiot kicker as will forever be known) said Peyton Manning didn't show enough emotion on the field?

Obviously JJ is no Peyton Manning, but you don't need to be a "fiery leader" to be a good QB. Philip Rivers and Jay Cutler show a ton of emotion on the field and pretty much everyone agrees they are petulant little brats.

Yes, but leaders are leaders because they rise up and perform. I hope he does it pretty soon.

I disagree...Brooks used to laugh on the sidelines after he got picked and then ask one of his team mates.."Don't worry, Wednesday is payday !!"

    Laughter is emotion.

Dang it, you beat me to it.

Wasn't it just a year ago people wanted him to be stoic and not show frustration after a bad play? Maybe to get the emotion level up JJ can come up with LSU's version of The Promise and cry on camera if we lose to State. He can do all that rah-rah BS that Tebow did on the sideline while Les jumps up and down, throws his headset on the ground a la Bob Stoops, and gives himself 3 aneurysms screaming at players who screw up.

Just do us all a favor vs MSU this weekend.

The first 3 plays, have JJ throw passes a minimum of 20 yards down the field. I don't care if they are all incomplete.

Trust me, he'll be fine after that and will take the bull by the horns.

Show him by actions that you BELIEVE in him.

Otherwise he won't believe in himself.
