I know its a womens sport & not to many people are interested but I was just wondering if anyone felt like I do.. I thought Van was a left field choice for the job & I was thinking at the time that LSU hired him to get that veteran team into & win the National Championship Game. Well, It didn't happen, same song forth verse. I also thought Van did a good job recruiting this past year but the results have been kinda disappointing so far. Does anyone know what he has recruited for next year & what do you think his future is at LSU..
I was wondering about recruits yesterday and someone on TD Recruiting board steered me in the right direction. http://www.lsusports.net/ViewArticle.dbml?&ATCLID=1623595&DB_OEM_ID=5200 He signed three, all very talented, and has a transfer from Southern Miss. I think the team is doing fine despite their youth. Most of the team is made up of true freshmen. We are probably one talented big inside player from going deep in the tournament.
Of course you're disappointed. They haven't won every single game. Do you ever have a positive thought?
Been out of town or I would have commented earlier... Great Win by the Lady Tigers over Tenn. Awesome performance.... I hope they win out & get a shot at the big dance.. I think this is a positive post , at least I hope it is... :geaux:
The freshmen are now getting close to being sophomores, especially from a mental standpoint. Coach is doing a terrific job with them. 12-4 in the SEC with almost an all freshmen team. Hell yeah.
2nd time we tell ya that the women only play 14 in the SEC. But not many programs lose all 5 starters and stay dominant. Want proof? Look at Tennessee. They lost 4 of their 5 from their title team and are now behind LSU in the standings. The problems the team had this year are all on Pokey for recruiting a team that would be stacked up with all seniors like she did. Van is breaking that all up right now with transfers/jucos, etc... But for the time being, being 3rd in the SEC with an entirely new starting five and only 4 returning players (only 1 of whom who actually played last year) is damn good.
