You're thinking of the Troy game, in which we got down by 28 in the 3rd and ended up winning by 9, outscoring them 30-0 in the 4th quarter. I don't think we got down to La Tech more than 17. It just appeared worse as we had no business being down to them at all. At least Troy was a half decent team.
Agreed, we've seen many an upset by these smaller schools on the OOC schedule over this same stretch of time. LSU has managed to avoid that kind of upset while taking care of the usual one tough OOC game we schedule every year. 12 years running now.
Was not purty but with a young team like we have, you take that "W" and move on. Our team didn't quit, that is one thing I took as a positive. Fournette was a huge disappointment. I understand it was his first game but he scared me. Reminded me of K. Williams in that I thought he ran too much up and not lowering his head. I also thought he kinda pulled up when the got into traffic. I admit I didn't watch THAT close and don't have dvr, so maybe I'm wrong on this- I hope so. Still, I sure didn't see much otherwise either.
That's what I am hanging my hat on. Young team that grew up quick. They can draw from this experience down the road.
*sigh* greatest comeback in Tiger history. I remember tirk walked out pissed off and a second later, the comeback began...
