No, the play looked very very damning from the original angle. Any open minded, non-utter homer LSU fan should also be unhappy with that play based on the CBS camera view. UNLESS you've seen one of the other angles that makes it very clear it was NOT a cheap shot in any way. I didnt see those other camera views until someone had posted them here.

Right, I was stunned when I watched that play as it happened. After a few replays it was clearly a stupid holding penalty, but not a cheap shot.

Bowl games ?? A&M ain't Bama JJ is still JJ, and Texas A&M ain't Bama . Do not think for a New York second , that Bama is not in shape . LSU may be in the best physical shape it as a team has ever been in . I do not think Saban will have a contract out on JJ , I am sure Miles will not be telling the LSU players , "Take out Bama's QB ". Sometimes a player get hurt , because it is the game , if he is good the other team is keying on him . To stop him .I do not want to see anyone get hurt. I want LSU to win , 2 reasons . I am a Tiger fan (A GEAUX TIGERS FAN ) and I have 250 reasons for wanting LSU to win . All week I have gone in watched youtube trying to understand why I do not like JJ as a QB . When I see him in the backfield and his legs moving , eyes looking for that hole , and when he finds it . I know why I do not like JJ as a QB . He should have been a running back. With the option to throw when he feels the pass. The Vols had a QB like that I think his name was Holloway , Condredge Holloway . I would love to see you at QB , even me at QB, I am 64 . JJ would make me look good . Taking the snap, handing the ball to JJ , I think the offense would explode . It would be as exciting as fire works on the 4th of July I have a strange feeling that JJ can even catch the football. JJ at QB is not a weaknees ,but, this LSU team has a weakness .They know that they can spot a good team 10 to 14 points . Then get into the game , an take names and kick butt . I do not think we can do that with this Bama team . The great talent that is on this LSU team is their only weakness
My Bad, I should have done more research. All I remember is that one angle and that Dre Kirkpatrick got injured and did not play the rest of that game UNLESS my memory is wrong here. I should have done more research before I spoke. It looked like a cheap shot to me and I was very disappointed. I only said they may do the same to JJ because Dre KirkPatrick was injured and in some folks view it gives the Gumps a better chance to win. Personally I think JJ may be to elusive for the Gumps to target. I put nothing past them though, one name, Harvey UpDike!

But I also knew that between the Bama fans and the blithering idiots in the media, most people were convinced TM7 clotheslined DK, and was a dirty player. Just wanted to show the proof against that line of thinking.
Every defense's goal is to take out the QB, including both LSU & Bama. Bama will have more shots at ours because he scrambles.
