During the regular season, i was pretty confident going into most of the game. However, I had a bad feeling about Kentucky, after that Florida game with the way Andre Woodson was playing. Not that I thought we would lose, but I just had a bad feeling. Well that feeling panned out, after committing 2 million penalties that game. I just knew after regulation we would lose. Also, had that same bad feeling for the Arkansa game and Auburn game. We all know the results of those contest. Well with Ohio St. I just dont have that feeling (hoping i dont have to eat crow) and I'll tell you why.

Having the best defense is very subjective, dealing with the level of competition. Holding Akron, Youngstown St, Washington, Northwestern, Purdue, Kent State, and Michigan under 7 points each game isnt exactly impressive to me. I know you will say its not our fault, but hey your school made the schedule.

With that said, i dont think Ohio St, can stop LSUs offense....
Ohio St people are getting tired of hearing about SEC speed. Well, if everyone is talking about it, their has to be some truth to it. It wasnt a myth last year and it wont be a myth this year. If you can stop that, you wont win. Also, LSU front four hasnt set the world on fire this year, but they have been good. At full strenght it will be a true test to Ohio st O-line and if the QB doesnt have time you wont win or even be in the game. So just hope that Wells has a Heisman type day.

    maybe i am a homer...

    but anyway :geaux:
    and good luck.

I'll be pulling fhard for LSU, and I hope you're right, but my "gut feeling" is telling me that LSU and it's fans are taking OSU more lightly than they should. A lot of emphasis has been placed on "SEC speed" , particularly in light of last season's blowout ...... but this is a much improved OSU defense, IMO.

And to be honest, I've felt that LSU's defense gets way more hype than it has deserved. Miles has been walking a very thin line all season.

The dead giveaway was the AU game. Auburn's offense is horrible, .... one of the worst I've seen since the Barfield days in the late 70's. We rank 56th in rushing and 107th in passing. And quite frankly, AU outplayed LSU the majority of their game. I'd love to tell you it's because we "got up" for a division rival, but that wasn't a factor. The Tulane game was an indicator also, IMO.

Now, don't get me wrong, I don't state these things to bash LSU ..... but those that think OSU is the same team as last season are going to be in for a rude awakening.

The biggest issue I see for LSU is the long layoff and the numerous distractions in the interim. There's no better team in the nation when LSU is focused and playing in a good rythym .... both offensively and defensively. But this long layoff worries me ....... I honestly hope my gut is wrong, because I'm bullish on LSU, but OSU is a very focused team right now, and that makes them dangerous.

tOSU had a longer layoff with less distractions. Evens the playing field in that respect. :thumb:

I like how the SEC speed is being talked about by everyone. I think OSU will be very surprised at how physical this LSU team will play. This will be one of the most physical teams they have played in the last few years. The Speed is a smoke screen IMO.

    I hope you are right

I don't think you are bashing :helmet: and I think that some of the players needed the long layoff to get completely healthy.

    I think so too.

    I hope so.

Some fans (and I use the term loosely) may be taking the Buckeyes lightly, but I'm not, and I'm certain our coaching staff and players aren't.

One benefit of the extended time between the SECCG & the BCSCG is physically we should be in the best shape we've been since the beginning of the season.

I was watching that game last week on ESPNU and AU only had two good drives the entire game...Their first and their last....They were able to gain the lead that they had thanks to RP's fumble which Au ran it back all the way inside the 5...LSU pretty much dominated the rest of the game...We easily dominated the second half with 5 scoring drives.

Well your gut may be right about us fans but I don't think the team is taking anything lightly. I think Mile's bowl record shows the way our team is prepared for the post season. I for one am quite excited to see our team healthy and prepared.
