As bad as JJ played at times last year, it was still the defense that lost us games. That TD before halftime against Arkansas was a huge mistake. Had it never happened, there was a point when LSU was in FG range but needed to go for a TD because we were down 8. Take away 7, that FG puts us ahead.

Auburn still ran all over us as well, and it was really a 14 point loss, but LSU fought hard I thought in that game. We took them well into the 4th before that long(I think Dyer) run put us away. As we've seen with Les, just give him a chance in the 4th and he can make something happen. That kind of took the wind out of our sails and we weren't able to recover.

The D is still going to have to step up and make some plays at key times, because even with a fully functioning offense we can't let up the crippling 80 yard TD plays. And yes, JJ needs to make better decisions. He made some good progress last year against Ole Miss and TAMU.

I'm confident the DL will be better this year, I'm not confident JJ will be. LB and DB should be about the same. A much improved DL will pay huge dividends on D.

You bring up a good point, but I don't think our defense gives up that big run to McCaleb against Auburn if they aren't gassed from being on the field the whole game. Same thing with the big run by Newton. Now, the Arkansas game, 2 plays for long touchdowns are solely on Karnell Hatcher's shoulders. Think about that, 4 huge plays for over 50 yards, that if stopped could have resulted in us hoisting the crystal ball.

Ditto. Especially the comment about Hatcher... that really, really hurt us. Cost us at least a BCS bowl (although I was very happy about the cotton bowl appearance and performance - that is one heck of a venue). And I have to say that Ala and Ore did a darn good job against Cam Newton. Dont know why we had such a hard time. Isnt Hatcher moving to linebacker?

Obviously, Robert Smith obviously needs a thesaurus because, obviously, he likes to say obviously a lot... obviously.

And who do you think never helped out the D?

THE D DID NOT LOSE US ANY GAMES....

Evenin the AU game when we were getting ran all over, it was b/c our O put together ONE drive in the second half.....ONE....

Not to mention the insane amount of time our O spent on the Ark side of the field only not not score.......

    PLZZZZ

It is also important to note the loss of Taylor last season screwed us pretty bad but they managed to hold it together....

I would just like to reiterate that Craig James is a douche.

    Yes.

I'm glad his pussy son got locked in a closet and whatever else happened to him. I just wish it was Craig James that got locked in the f*ckin closet.
