Doesn't get more prestigious than playing in Lambeau. another bonus is that LSU produced Packer legend Jim Taylor who was key to Vince Lombardi winning those championships and the best RB in NFL history at the time. Not to mention how similar the uniforms of LSU and the Packers look. Would be hard to imagine an event bigger for LSU's national prestige and recruiting than going up to Lambeau to play the home team in a nationally televised game, esp if Wisconsin has a good team that year
That's true, but Green Bay isn't too far from Milwaukee & Chicago. I was saying that it could help recruiting in the Mid-west better in general, because like you said we have nothing to gain from the state of Wisconsin. There's actually a new Soldier field now and that would be a good location as well. Wisconsin definitely stands more to gain but as a college football fan and LSU fan, it sure sounds enticing. I would understand if Alleva turned it down in light of a 9 game SEC schedule and no return trip.
LSU won't take this single game. And also unlikely if Wisconsin did a return visit down south. Nothing to gain here.
I would play it at Lambeau just because it's Lambeau. LSU has been branching further and further out from the South for athletes. Don't think of playing at Lambeau as recruiting Wisconsin. It's venturing into Big Ten territory and every state with a Big Ten school in it will be watching as LSU runs over, around and through the Badgers.
Personally I would love it. It's Lambeau, one of the most prestigious sites in football history. Go kick some Big 10 ass and call it a day.
Got a buddy from Janesville, huge Packer/Wiscy fan. While he was in NOLA, he couldn't get enough of LSU. I bet he'd sell his left nut to get tiks for this in Lambeau...
I don't have a link right now, but this game is now confirmed to be at Reliant Stadium. Edit: Found a link http://www.myfoxhouston.com/story/22146085/2013/05/02/wisconsin-to-play-lsu-at-reliant-in-2014
