They described JOB on the radio as a guy who plays below the rim, like Big Baby, but I don't see it. He gets up and blocks shots and can dunk in traffic.
Impressive W for the Tigers, 76-57. Hamilton with 18, Hickey with 17. Nice game after a sloppy start. :geauxtige
Never mind. Thought I would be able to catch the last couple of minutes, but too late. I listened on the radio for most of the game, & it sounded as if they played very impressively on both sides of the court in the 2nd half after starting off very slowly to start the game.
So what's the deal with Hamilton? Is it laughable that he would leave after this year, or will he continue for his Sr. season?
GEAUX Tigers! A W is a W, and man, LSU needed this. Seems like LSU put the clamps on in the second half and played some d. Hamilton has a big game, as does Hickey (again). Also liked the fact that Jalen Courtney came in and gave us some strong minutes... 5 rebounds in just a short amount of time. Also, without having seen the game, John Isaac plays 19 minutes... not terribly impressive stat line, but something tells me that the guy hustled and stopped their guards from scoring in the second half. Can't underestimate the value of a kid like Isaac or Garrett Temple locking down on their scorer. Interestingly, WKU was a school very much after Anthony Hickey, recruiting him hard. Good to see LSU hold up their end of the deal, and get the W against a team they should beat. One win at a time, one step at a time. And, no, I don't see Hamilton going pro after this year (heck who knows what NBA is going to be even played this/next year, right?). Although, as Trent well knows, when you take a live 7' body and instill it with some fundamentals and reasonable skills, you've got at least a NBA second rounder. I could see Hamilton, as a 15 ppg and 9 rpg guy in the SEC getting drafted in his senior year. LSU would have to make some noise in the NCAA tourney this year to get Hamilton and O'Bryant the looks at getting drafted next spring. It would be a good problem to have...
Need to work on the turnovers and fouls. I've watch a few other games this season and judging from the emphasis the officials governing body has been pushing they will have to adjust. Lots more touch fouls being called. Dick Vitale mentioned the extra foul calling in the Arizona/Miss St game.
Glad we won this one. Had the game won against N'western yesterday and just let it slip away...then got back in it to let it slip away again. Needed a good W in the books. Good job Tigz.
