Everyone enjoys the win, Tap. What we disdain is the obvious affirmation Miles will take from said win and continue on as if nothing is broken.
I enjoyed the defensive performance. Thought special teams coverage was better too. Didn't enjoy the pooch kicks and didn't see anything from the QB or coaching staff that points to improvement on offense next year. Still happy for the win and enjoyed the game.
I am happy with last night's win. The offense played well even considering that the TT defense was bad. LSU gained about 100 yards over the TT avg allowed per game. Harris wasn't lights out but he played ok. Not every play was executed well and not every play call was perfect but I find it hard to complain about last night's offensive performance. Baylor had about the same stats against TT. The TT Oline was like turnstiles for the LSU defense. The D brought pressure all night; held their offense 200 yds short of their avg. It was a good win. What does it mean for next year? Nothing. I don't expect any changes from Miles but the talent is there. He could lead this team to a solid year in 2016, we'll see. But it's nice to go into the off season on a positive note.
It takes a special level of hatred to look at a 56 point, 630 yard performance and see nothing but incompetence. I really feel sorry for you.
Not hatred, just open eyes. You won't be seeing 56 points next year unless they play TT again. It's a lot like playing La Tech or Southeastern, you have to consider the opponent. This was a TT team ranked #125 on defense and severely out talented by LSU. 56 points and 600 yards is great, but doesn't really mean jack. It was the same Les Miles offense, don't expect different results next season when they face SEC opponents. Just because you dunk the ball over your 10 year old daughter doesn't mean you're ready for the NBA.
Are you referring to Twisted's observation that we scored on a reverse and didn't run it again? Yep, funny....except that we did run it again, in the third quarter. TTU sniffed it out and Chark did a great job to turn it into a 5-yard gain. Normally the negas complain that we do the same thing over and over again. 56 points and now you're complaining that we didn't do the same thing over and over again.
I saw really the same LSU team that we've seen all season. I did enjoy the win, but I'm not taking anything into next season based on this. The defense looked a bit better. The offense is still the same. When we have an obvious talent advantage, we are fine, but when a real defense can limit our running game, the "jump ball" passing game doesn't work against real cornerbacks. Whoever said the short and intermediate passing game was working must have been watching a Saints rebroadcast or something. Harris was inaccurate and late on throws all night. The QB on the other side of the field, with no blocking and less talent around him was the FAR better player. So once again, not trying to be negative. Nice to win the last game of the season this year, but no questions were really answered.
I don't really care about any of that fancy stuff. Yes we won, lots of points and yards but as pointed out, it was tech. There was a lot wrong with it and that's not being negative, that is having 1. The ability to see it 2. The integrity to admit it. It is what it is.
