When was the last time the pitiful TT defense matched up against the #1 RB in the country? Or a team that passes an average of about 25 times a game? The offense looked much the same, not a complaint, just a fact. The defense looked much improved, not a complaint, just a fact. Offensive coaching\playcalling looked much the same, not a complaint, just a fact. I just didn't see any reason to be encouraged by what I saw on the offensive side of the ball. I was pleased by the improvement I saw on defense. Again, not a complaint, just an observation.
Now there is an achievement. There's Les Miles and then there is Art Briles. As far apart as you can possible be when you're talking about offensive brain power.
You know it's sad that so many supposed LSU fans can't enjoy a win.....a rout. How do you ignore the positive parts of the game? The offense was productive and for a CLM team varied. Harris was accurate on short to medium passes most of the night. After a poor start to the 3rd quarter he recovered and had a strong finish. We kept passing after the interception and didn't let setbacks bother him. The defense shut down one of the best offenses in the NCAA. The TT defense may have sucked but their offense was top ranked in all phases and we held them to less than half their usual production and to almost 0 yards rushing. Overall it was the teams best performance since Florida and maybe of the year. Don't bother with your sad refrains about CLMs incompetence and that I'm only a pumper. I called for his firing this year and still believe he should have been. However he's still here and there isn't an effing thing we can do about. Do I hope he has learned and has enough confidence to let the O go? Yes. Am I counting on it? No. What I will do is remember this game with the joy it deserves as a good win and great end to the season. It's too bad some of you seem to hold you hate/distain/contempt for Miles more closely than your enjoyment of the LSU Tigers. You will never be happy. I'm feel sorry for your loss.
I think I did say take this game for what it was worth, pure entertainment value. It was great to watch. After you're done savoring it, as you should by the way, erase it totally from your memory banks when gearing up for the 2016 season. That's all I'm saying. I will add as others have said that I was surprised Steele could come up with a game plan that would slow down this offense. Hopefully this is a sign of things to come after a very disappointing first year as defensive coordinator. Lord knows Leslie needs a dominating defense to stand a chance against the toughest part of our SEC schedule.
Winston, when are you going to learn not to contaminate this board with positive thoughts. You're sucking the pleasure right out of the experience for so many people. You are such a selfish bastard.
I was scared to death up until the interception. I was pleasantly surprised after that. Definitely was a better experience after the basketball fiasco. I will remember 2015 as a year of LSU football and basketball being underachievers! The good news is that there is always next year and next year is about 2 days away! Happy New Year!
