As far as Morgan ... name the last player you’ve ever seen play the left side of the infield left handed. i’ll even let you add in 2B. so name anyone that has played somewhere other than 1B in the infield at either Div 1 college or MLB. anyone at all. i’d put Arnold back at SS. Thompson at 3B isn’t horrible. nothing special, but not bad. Needs to hit more though.

I’m not saying it would work but what we have at short and third ain’t either. If beating Nichols state by one run and losing to Air Force in first series and the hammering by oral is something to be proud of then I hate to say it but this could be a long season. I’ve seen a lot of great baseball players play short at LSU. Kramer Robertson, Nola, Bregman. I was born in the late 80s so I never got to see pre Skip Bertman but I do know this team is capable of playing a lot better.
Morgan should not have to do a split everytime there is a throw to 1st. Dude is gonna pull something.
having a lefty NOT play the infield is not analytics. it’s physics. a lefty has to turn his entire body around to make every single throw. that’s an extra step (at a minimum) just donated to the runner. which already through 9 games is probably gifting the other team at least 5-6 hits at a minimum. there is a reason that you cannot name a single lefty to ever play those positions. also, i’m not saying these games are stuff to be proud of. I’m saying melting down over them is a complete overreaction. do we have things that need work and improvement? abso-freaking-lutely. does squeaking by Nicholls mean anything at in the grand scheme of things? not at all, we lost to them in each of our last 2 NC seasons.
